Summary
Clay Green
A brotherhood? Monsters? Goddesses? Magic?
The world has become a strange place.
After a life on the run, Clay Green is rescued by a crazy old lady with a shotgun and an even crazier story about monsters, goddesses, and a secret brotherhood.
Gifted with the power of the earth, Clay must locate his missing “brothers” before invading monsters can destroy everything.
As if that’s not enough to contend with, Clay can’t keep his hands off the man trying to rebuild the plantation house he’s temporarily living in.
Dane Briggs
Something strange is going on....
Dane knew restoring the old plantation house wasn’t going to be an easy job, but at least none of the clients were going to be underfoot. Since losing his wife and child, the only way Dane can keep going is to focus on the work.
But that focus crumbles the second Clay appears covered in blood and barely hanging on to life.
Mystery and danger cling to Clay and the other men who suddenly show up. A smart man would walk away.
Dane chucks smart out the window in favor of hungry kisses and the silken slide of skin against skin. He doesn’t understand what’s happening, but there’s no question that Clay needs him.
He’s just not sure his heart can survive being broken again if something happens to Clay.
Broken Warrior is the first book in The Weavers Circle series. It includes fast-paced action, explosions, hurt/comfort, sexy times, animal shenanigans, wounded hearts, three crazy old ladies, and magic!

Ridiculous
There were too many storylines to follow - we had Dane, then Clay, then Bear and Grey, on top of that was the godesses and the whacko alien pestilence. I enjoyed bits of the book, but a lot of the time I couldn't suspend disbelief...like in ch21, after healing a weaver Dane slept for 16 hours and the writers would let him brush his teeth, let alone take a pee - no, when he woke up he went straight into a two session sex scene. That wasn't hot or entertaining, it was icky and ridiculous.

Yet Another Great Collaboration!
Absolutely brilliant - Drake and Elliott write so well together, and completely different from their usual format.
The storyline is great, characters believable and has the usual snark and sass.
Really looking forward to hearing where this storyline goes!
Great to hear Kirt Graves joining the collaboration, he is so suitable to this collaboration.
Definitely 5🌟’s 🥰

This author duo should stick with what they know
Mediocre world building. It seemed like the paranormal/fantasy aspect was an after thought. It's a return for me.

A Bit Frustrated
I like the story I really do but for some reason I'm becoming a bit frustrated I don't know it just seems like it's dragging on a bit. I think I want more and in saying that I'm not sure what more is, just some type of resolution other than hearing about Clay and how it won't work with Dane and how he not going to stay, that it's not permanent but where is he moving on to. He's been given this wonderful gift and yet he's more entranced with Dane than learning to strengthen his powers.

Nothing Special
If you like the same plot lines over & over, this might be for you. But there was nothing new or fresh in this read. There’s just nothing special about the plot. Surprisingly the narration was off to my ear as well. I think it was supposed to be Southern, but it came across as ‘Hick’ and I found it a little offensive.

Fabulous Fantasy
This series is romance, yes, but it is pure fantasy / paranormal. If that isn’t your thing, then think twice, but it is a well done series.
Dane & Clay’s story is quite the roller coaster, as you would expect for the intro to a new fantasy/paranormal series. Lots of questions, quirks and surprises. Enough tension and steam to keep romance aficionados happy, and well thought out world building and paranormal storyline to keep a fantasy fan intrigued as well.
If I could mark down the narrator by a half point, I might, but lower than that would be unfair. He does a perfectly good job in all ways, but something about his cadence doesn’t fit well into my listening air. I can’t put my finger on why but if I do, then I will note it in later series reviews.
Note: I’m on a reread (listen) of this story in anticipation of a new release to add to the end. Even on this, my 2nd or 3rd listen, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and found more details to add to my mental screenplay.

Dane and Clay story was fantastic
I’m not sure what some of these reviewers are reading or listening to but this book is fantastic. It’s imaginative, suspenseful and the love between Dane and Clay absolutely beautiful. I love the story building also and can’t wait to listen to book 2. Reading that gray is going to go blind is making my mind reel wondering how it happened and the effect it will have on his power. Will his soul mate help him see again? ? So far this series is the stuff that excites and allow you to get lost in an imaginative world of pestilence and weavers. Btw not my first time listening to Kirt Graves. He was the perfect choice for this story telling. The person who wrote that she was offended by his voice clearly don’t get it. Bravo Kirt! Jocelynn Rinda keep writing them. I’ll keep reading and listening to your imaginative talented work.
