About this listen
There's a fine line between love and hate, and it's about to be set on fire.
Brix Ward is a grade-A prick. He's arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he's used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy. Except for me.
I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs. Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.
Now, no matter what I do, there's no escaping him. He's always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we're around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise. If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong. I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.
Author's note: This is book one in the A Rebels Havoc series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone and has a HEA. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language, and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for listeners under the age of 18.

Steamy siblings! (not really, don't worry....)
This take on enemies-to-lovers had me seething to begin with and I really couldn't see Brix as being redeemable, but Brooke O'Brien managed to turn him around. Brix's and Liv's story is explosive and steamy and Michael Gallagher's and Stefanie Kay's narration complement each other perfectly. Love it!!

Stepbrother Bully Romance
Brix by Brooke O'Brien is a stepbrother bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Michael Gallagher and Stefanie Kay. This is the first book in A Rebels Havoc series and can be read as a standalone.
The book comes with a warning/caution "Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for under the age of 18."
This is the first book of Brooke's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the chemistry between Brix and Ivy. Their relationship was a bit of roller coaster but you couldn't help but root for them.
Michael and Stefanie did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you love stepbrother romances, bully romances, or enemies to lovers romances.

Plenty of sexy time!
This book gives you plenty of sexy time! You get a bit of taboo mixed in there and it all ends with not 1 but 2 epilogues so you get all your loose ends tied up for you!

Enemies to lovers at its finest
Enemies to lovers my favorite trope Ivy and Brix went to high school together and he maxed her life a living hell they hate each other so when they meet up with each other years later he does not recognize her and hits on her to make matters worse they realize their parents are involved and eloped. Forced to spend the summer together in the same house sparks fly between these two. But will a bet made be the end of this romance that could be so much more. I enjoyed this book so much and I can’t wait to read the stories of the other Rebel’s Havoc member s and them finding love.

enemies to lovers
Brix starts out as a total a** but eventually he does redeem himself. He's right when he says he doesn't deserve Ivy's forgiveness but I'm happy she gave it because it turned into a great listen. The narration was good and the story was a fun listen for sure.

Brix & Ivy!
Brooke O'Brien has a way with words. This is not the typical bully, stepbrother romance, She has taken it up a notch. Ivy is home from college for the summer and is living with her mom. Brix, now her stepbrother is home too, their newlywed parents away together. What a nightmare for Ivy, right? Brix has been the target of his brutality for most of her life and now she has to live with him? But things are never what they seem, and the chemistry between these two is undeniable. Will Ivy see through Brix's exterior to the man her really is? I enjoyed this story so much. I was ready for the typical steamy stepbrother dialogue, but these two characters are so much more than just attracted to each other. O'Brien has given them so much depth, it gave the story a very real dimension. It's a steamy listen with a twist. I definitely will be looking out for other audios by her.
Michael Gallagher and Stefanie Kay voice our characters and they are perfectly cast for new adult romance. Each has a quality that makes the character their own and fine tunes into their personalities. I enjoy both of their voices and know when I see their names, I am in for a treat.

Loved it
Brix is my first book by Brooke O'Brien but definitely not my last. It's a mix of tropes, such as rockstar romance, enemies-to-lovers and the taboo subject of stepsiblings.
I wasn't sure how to feel about Brix in the beginning. But I really liked the parts of the plot, where we learn more about Brix and he changes, I grew to love him. Ivy I adored from the beginning, and everytime it was revealed how much shebhad changed/grown over the years, that feeling just grew. It felt realistic in a lot of ways.
The voices of the narrators complemented each other and suited the characters well.

Good Listen
Ivy returns home to learn her mother had married her high school bullies father, now her and Brix are related. Brix decides that he wants her and pulls out all the stops to get her. Once he has her, she discovers that it was all for a bet and he was still the same jerk off from high school. Now Brix has to put it all on the line to show her that what they had is real and he needs her in his life.
