Summary

Xavier wanted a drink. A cigarette. A coma. Something, anything to get the need for Waverly out of his system. It’s been five years since she almost died because of a mistake he made. Five years since he saved her - and then left her. But no amount of time will make Xavier Saint forget her. Movie star Waverly Sinner has moved on. She calls the shots in her life now, and a newfound use for her acting talents keeps her too busy to worry about old scars. Until it all goes to hell. Now, she’s got a gunshot wound and a missing fake boyfriend to find.

When Xavier forces his way back into her life ready to play the hero again, Waverly pushes back. She’ll never trust the man who broke her heart, even if she desperately needs his help. Even if she’s tortured by memories of what it was like being worshiped by his battled-hardened body.

Romantic Suspense at its best!

I love the narration by Sophie Daniels. She makes the book come alive and it’s been such an amazing g experience to get immersed in the story via the audible media.
Xaverly 5 years later, playing spy games and picking up where they left off. I absolutely adored this duet, the story is suspenseful and captivating, and the cast of characters is superbly written by the author. Definitely recommend!

Very disappointing POSSIBLE SPOILERS

After what he put her through, she should have made him suffer at least a little instead of just giving in to every sexual demand almost immediately.🤦🏻‍♀️ I thought she was supposed to be strong and independent — so much for that!

Great conclusion to Waverly & Xavier

This book picks up five years after the events of book Crossing the Line and a lot of things have changed in this time. Xavier regrets the mistake that he made when he left Waverly. The chemisty they have is still there and despite how mad she is mad at him she can’t fight her feelings for him and he is determined to show her that. This book is filled with twist and turns and heat that will make you not want to put this book down. This was a great conclusion to this duet. Sophie Daniels continues her great performance in this book bringing all of these characters to life. Another great read/listen from Lucy Score.
