I love dark mafia romance but for some reason I had a hard time with this one. Cristian was a fairly likable character but I didn't care for Donatella very much. Maybe she was just too smart or too strong for my taste. The storyline started off really well but then as it went on, it just didn't do it for me. Tara Langella and Jay Alder both did a good job bringing this story to life.

Well narrated tempestuous action drama well above many in this genre. So well written, fast paced, detailed and well planned. Cristian is smart, wordly but with a dark heart. Donatella is such a non cookie cutter MC, complete with pink mohican, tattoos and piercings.

These non virgins are afraid of no evil. No stupid shenanigans here. Had to slow the narration to 0.90, or the female voice sounds gabbling.

If you enjoyed this, you will enjoy the Dangerous series by JT Geisinger.

Breaking Donatella by Raisa Greywood is a dark romance set in the Leave Me Breathless world that I listened to on audio narrated by Tara Langella and Jay Alder.

The book does come with a note "The stories in the Black Rose Collection are considered dark romance. Some aspects may be sensitive for some readers."

This is the first book of Raisa's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Cristian and Donatella. Their relationship started on the wrong foot but you couldn't help but root for them.

Tara and Jay did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, captive romances, or romantic suspense.

First time listening to this Author and Narrators!
Loved every second!
I love how this story threw me a few curves I did not anticipate.

The narration was so so good, especially Tara your male voice is awesome!

The story itself is AMAZING . Maybe I loved it so much because the female lead wasn’t whiney and doubty! If you are sensitive this might have a few triggers specially in the beginning, but nothing to over the top

I experienced many different emotions during this book and I cried near the end.

Christian was most definitely a Mafia Don, but he was truly able to love and care for Ella. It was amazing to see their growth individually, and as a couple. I started this book at 1pm and I listened to it pretty much straight through.

The narrators did a really good job and Tara’s voice for Christian was 👌. I love it when female narrators are able to depict both characters perfectly, and I believe that Tara did that.

This was my first book from Raisa, and I wasn’t disappointed. The dirty talk in this book was FIRE.

Christian has a plan, to get the supposed to be dead Rossi (Ella)and make her his bride and be the powerfulest couple. But he forgot that Ella was like no woman he had met before. Now he must watch his back because she will end him if he or anyone else get out of line with her and what she values. This story is full of crazy drama and hot scenes.

Christian and Ella are from Italian crime families. what starts as an arranged marriage ends up as so much more. their chemistry is off the charts and when they fell, they fell so hard for each other. I loved every minute of listening to this book. so well written and performed. I highly recommend.

Ella is such a strong character that can handle and dish out just about anything you can imagine. I absolutely loved her spunk and personality in this book and was so happy to see that she is able to get her perfect ending no matter what is thrown at her. This book was so fun to listen to and I look forward to more in the future.

When this story started I really wasn't sure about it, and I REALLY didn't like Christian. But something about it worked it's way into me and I needed to know more, I needed to know what was going on, and I needed to know if Christian was going to be like that the whole time ... not gonna share what happened, lol. Tara Langella and Jay Alder do a fabulous job bringing the characters to life and I got lost in the story without noticing the voices, which is always odd to say but it's true. Really enjoyed it.

Breaking Donatella is a standalone set in the Leave Me Breathless World. Different Mafia couples and lots of steamy goodness.

Raisa did a great job keeping me entertained in the story. I love when the FMC is semi-normal with somewhat of a life already set and not already totally into the lifestyle of the Mafia.

Ella is on the run, her mom grabbed her when she was young and they ran from Italy. She has a gig and a new look that helps keep her from being found. One day, she drank the wrong drink and ran into the wrong guy.

Cristian is trying to get his hands on the family fortune, but it's not his family’s. He already knows where the princess is even though she thought she was hidden deep enough to never be found.

Ella and Cristian enter into an agreement. They will marry and she will give him an heir. But Ella isn't the kind to just sit back and let things happen. She's tried to escape but not only is she stopped, she needs to fight the feelings she is denying she has when she is around Cristian.

This one checks off a lot of the boxes, Mafia, arranged/forced marriage, CNC, BDSM, and a bit of enemies to lovers maybe depending on how you look at it. So, it is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Although you don't need to start with book one, I have a feeling that each author's story will be equally unique as good.

Audio was done by Tara Langella and Jay Alder, and they played their part perfectly.
