Compelling short stories voiced by an excellent actor.
Sometimes brief glimpses behind the curtain in the 40k verse can stick in your mind more then the longer stories, which is what these ones do.
Voiced by the talented Christopher Tester who like many I first discovered on my tiktok feed. Was a pleasant surprise to learn he had done a official GW audiobook and would definitely potentially buy more in the future.

The blood of the emperor is great
Definitely a recommendation from me for one of Christopher first forays into the published world it is amazing, the stories are okay but his audio is where the book really shines, can’t wait to hear more from

Another magnificent set of stories, and the start of something beautiful
As someone working through the entirety of the the Horus Heresy series I’ve heard my fair share of stories from this magnificent setting and this one today left me with shivers.
The performance of the Narrator left my breathless, from his first utterance to his final statement my attention was kept in a vice-like grip keeping me hooked on every sentence. Christopher Tester deserves to be a well-known name in the Narration and Voice Acting circles.

The voice actor made it
The stories were good. Interesting, but given how short they were, there could have been a few more included.
The standout feature though was the quality of the voice acting. I think it was certainly the best I’ve experienced from black library. Hope they cast him in more important works!
