Summary
Halek Cain’s journey has only just begun.
In search of answers to both his past and his future, Hal and his newly formed crew must overcome obstacles unlike anything they’ve ever seen. Hal needs repairs, and there’s only so many places a Reaper can find them.
Far across known space, hidden inside an uncharted slip tunnel, a hidden Reaper facility may hold the answers Hal needs. But the Union would rather the dead stay buried...and they’ll kill to keep their secrets.

Last I’ll listen to
It’s unfortunate but the series narrator was replaced after this book. Don’t do that if you want people to stay vested….

I enjoyed the whole thing, but the last book was a nice finish. Worth the credits.

Can't wait for book four.
I’ve enjoyed all three so far, with this being my favorite. Really looking forward to book four. Ray Porter was amazing as usual.

Long Wait but worth it
I waited a long while for book 3 and as always Ray Porter does a fantastic job with voicing Halek Cain and all the other characters in The Last Reaper series. He really captures Hal and X-37's moods as they talk be it sarcasm, annoyance, or anger, it really gets you laughing at the situation in the story.

Fun series..
I like this series! Especially X-37 and Jelly. Halek Cain is a great hero and his snarkiness is so funny sometimes. There are 13 books in this series and I can see myself listening to all of them, maybe.
No romance and the F-bomb was used 11 times.
As for the narration: ray Porter is one of the very best BUT he stops narrating after this one and Tom Taylorson takes over to do the rest of the series.
To that, I can only say: you need to hire someone to do ALL the books instead of changing voices mid-stream. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this kind of thing complained about in reviews. BUT ‘it’s all about the money, isn’t it?’ Never mind the customers!

New narrator is good.
I thought I was going to be turned off entirely by the new narrator - but he far better represents a more fitting approach and personality for Halik. If I were reading the book, this is more the voice I would imagine in my head - same with the banter between him and the crew. I do miss the original voice for Tom, but it didn't take long for me to completely ignore that this was a new narration. Don't let it turn you off, I'm now moving to the next hook without any hesitations.
Story is good. New characters are good. Enjoy!
