Wholesome story not wholly convinced by Narrator
I love these books. They are the book equivalent of a Lindt chocolate advert. You can curl up in front of a fire in your cozy knitwear and fall in love with the story. Sadly the narrator changed for this book which is always a bit frustrating when you have created characters in your imagination attached to the previous narrator. I have heard this narrator in other books and she worked perfectly but for this I don’t think she was the right fit.
Love the book though and looking forward to the next.

Preferred the narrator of the earlier books
Lovely story as ever and thoroughly enjoy getting lost in the light ‘fluff’ stuff, albeit with some moments of ‘how things used to be’ when friends hug each other.
But I can’t get on with this narrator, the different accents just aren’t as good as the previous narrator, the characters aren’t coming across as strongly and the story is getting lost in the constant stream of sameness, vocally.
Previous books were thoroughly enjoyable and laugh out loud, this one is occasionally amusing but far harder work - and all because of the narration.

nice and easy
I bought this series principally to send me to sleep and stop me thinking about daily stuff that get to you at night. This is perfect for this purpose, nothing to worry about nice people doing nice things. Accents a bit dodgey, especially Taffy but hey,.... so what.. I have listened to this story often and can dip in and out anywhere, as I know what happens to everyone. Sadly I have come to the end of the series... I can't see how there can be a follow up....unless they give Holly yet another set of twins or beatification.lol

Loved this series, highly recommend it
This has been a great series. I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. A perfect combination of humour, reality and interesting background of a village doctor's surgery. I loved the fun rapport between Taffie & Dan, lots of LOL moments, Elsie is such a darling, Alice and Grace and then Holly holding the story altogether. Fab. I hope there is another story following the introduction of a new member of staff...!!

Change of narrator
It took a little while to get used to the changes of voices but once I got past that I really enjoyed the story

I really love the new narrator! Story heaven
Have been so looking forward to this new Larkford book and it doesn’t disappoint. I actually really enjoyed the narration so not sure what other reviewers are on about - this ticks all my boxes for a really good audio book and I cannot wait for the next one. Brilliant, funny & heartfelt stories from Parkes yet again.
