Summary

From best-selling author Charleigh Rose comes an angsty new adult stand-alone.

Lo: Moving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start. Away from chaos. Away from bad influences and worse relationships. All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had. It should’ve been simple. I didn’t count on my transgressions following me. And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare. Tall, tortured, and tattooed. A Lost Boy through and through. Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache. But I was a sucker for punishment.

Dare: I had a routine. Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances. I kept my circle small and my guard high. I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart. Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control. She was fire and I was ice. I should’ve stayed away. But I had been cold for far too long.

Ok Story, Spoiler Alert

I enjoyed this but, days latter when I usually write a review, I can't really remember it. Not a glowing recommendation. I commend Charleigh Rose on the finished product, it is hard to write a book, but what I really liked was the Dare parts of the book but not the whole story. I thought that Dare's story was intriguing from beginning to end. I'm not sure that it would have ended that way or why he thought what he thought about his big secret that made him ice, but hey, I could follow it and that is key, Lo, I had to drop out of high school to take care of my brother but we are still living with our mom, just did not make sense. Again, she had a lot going on, then my Dad is not my Dad but he takes us in but I'm mad at him for taking us in because he lied, then the domestic violence ex boyfriend, its too much. But I could listen to Lance Greenfield all day. Would read this author again, yes, am I a fan of this particular story maybe

Fabulous characters!!

These two main characters are two of the most down on their luck characters. There just isn’t a better story for these characters. There isn’t anyone else better to heal the other than they are for each other. I just loved Lo. She’s an amazing woman. She’s so strong and fierce. She’s tackled so much and just handles it all. I really admired her character. Then we have Dare... amazing Dare. He was so aloft and really his self esteem was just crap. He didn’t think he deserved anything worthwhile.

Anyway, I could go on and on about these characters. Let’s discuss the author Charleigh Rose... she killed this book. She gave us characters that we route for. Characters that we want to win the flipping lottery! Her writing flows and is exquisite. The journey Ms. Rose took us on for Lo and Dare’s happily ever after is captivating, heart-wrenching, and deliciously sexy!

Good but ending seemed rushed

I loved this book. Both Dare and Lo appeared to grow with each other and their chemistry was scorching. If I had any complaints it was that the end seemed rushed. Once they were secured in their relationship it felt like Rose wanted to end it there but remembered that she hadn't wrapped up Dare's "big secret" (which didn't seem all that bad since it appeared obvious he did everything he could) or Eric's obsession so she tied both of them together and made the book's climax.

Overall though it was a good read and a the narrators voices were nice to listen to I thought.

Worth the credit

I liked this book better than the first one. Even though it's book 2 in the series you don't necessarily have to read the first book to enjoy it.
Lo is looking for a fresh start and has no interest in the local bad boy, Dare. But somehow she just can't seem to keep away from him. Their connection is a slow burn that heats up throughout the book until it explodes.

Great story, better than the first!!!!

This one was was better than the first book in the series and it was a semi stand alone. I can relate to having a crappy life similar to the main characters, where's my happy ending , right?!

This book had me locked in just a few sentences in

I have listened to many many books over the past few years, and this book definitely made my Top Five list. It has everything. Excitement, ingageing story line, romance (* Super steamy *) Cuation, if your not into wild, expressive & make you want to smoke a cigarette after the chapter is over books, I suggest you pass on this one. The narrators are so perfect together, that they had me blushing during the steamy parts. Wonderful story line from start to finish.

Dare and Lo ❤️

⚠️Spoilers Ahead
I am a huge fan of Book 1 so was excited to see Dare get his own book. His journey with Lo was exciting and steamy. Finding all the obstacles in the past and overcoming it together was heartwarming.
Loved having the other characters return and seeing Briar and Ash happy. And on to Jesse’s book which we know will be wild.

Jack and Sally

Pretty sure I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Dare! This series has had not one but two damaged boys with troubled pasts and I’m here for it.

Dare is a tattooed, gorgeous, blue-eyed business owner with a dont give a shit attitude, but hidden underneath his facade is warmth and kindness.

Lo and her brother Jesse are new in town and only looking for fresh start. This girl can’t seem to catch a break until she finally lands a job next door to Dare’s tattoo parlor. Only things don’t go so well during Dare and Lo’s first introduction. This woman keeps her head held high despite her troubles and her maternal instincts are very admirable. She’ll do anything to provide for herself and her brother.

I loved the chemistry between Dare and Lo and their small circle of friends made me love this story even more. Let’s not forget about the steam in this book because those sex scenes were HOTTTT!!!

If you have a chance, listen to the audiobook. Lance and Jennifer did a fantastic job at bringing this book to life!
