Summary
Anxiety Monster: How to Manage and Live with Anxiety by Milton Harrison
Anxiety is the most prevalent mental health condition in the world - are you suffering from it?
Are you constantly worried or tense?
Do you frequently have irrational fears that you just can’t shake?
Do you avoid certain situations because they trigger your anxiety?
Do you always expect the worst to happen?
Do you suffer from frequent headaches or insomnia?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, you may have an anxiety disorder.
We live in the "age of anxiety" where one in five people report feeling anxious most of the time.
Despite how common anxiety is, living with an anxiety disorder can make you feel isolated and alone, and it can be difficult to see a way out.
It’s easy to think that other people have it worse, especially when your anxiety hasn’t been diagnosed, which may lead you to ignore your feelings.
As difficult as it may be to imagine a life where you won’t feel the need to come up with excuses to avoid triggering situations, or feel like a foreigner in your own world, it is possible.
There are simple, practical solutions you can incorporate into your routine to reduce your anxiety levels and focus on enjoying life again.
Anxiety is one of the most well-researched mental health conditions in the modern world, and support is at hand.
In Anxiety Monster: How to Manage and Live with Anxiety, you’ll find everything you need to reduce your symptoms and make your anxiety more manageable. You’ll discover:
- The 3 most common anxiety disorders and how to fight them
- A closer look at the anxiety disorder that accounts for 30 percent of mental health problems seen by general practitioners
- How to spot the physical, behavioral, and emotional symptoms of anxiety
- The "newest kid on the block" when it comes to anxiety treatment
- Actionable tips to help manage the symptoms of all anxiety disorders
- The foundations on which to build your recovery - one that will last
- The secret to eliciting the body’s relaxation response, as well as why this is essential
- What to do when self-help just isn’t enough
- And much more
If you’ve been living with your anxiety for so long that tension and worry have become an intrinsic part of your life, it’s time to take back control. Anxiety Monster doesn’t make grand claims to solve all your issues, and it doesn’t suggest it can cure all your mental health problems. It will, however, give you all the tools you need to win the fight against anxiety.
Learn how to make anxiety a manageable part of your life, and break free of its control. You are bigger than the monster within you.
If you’re ready to take on the anxiety monster, buy this audiobook right now.

Put Your Anxiety to Bed
Sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is know why you feel a certain way. This book takes you through that. It made me feel safe for once.
Once I understood why I felt the way I felt, I opened up to fixing it. I've already employed quite a few of the strategies in this book and I have to say... most of them work. I already feel a whole lot less anxious on a daily basis. It's still there, but it's not as bad.
This is a great weapon against anxiety. Definitely pick it up if you have some.

Extremely insightful
I am so happy that I was able to listen to this audiobook when I did from start to finished I was extremely engaged. Its so easy to follow and it's extremely insightful about the world that those of us who live with anxiety are in. I love how simple yet detailed he was with he's description of the different types of anaxotey and really digging deep in the causes, triggers, cues, symptoms, and more so the practical methods which he advises us to us. It's really a job well done. I have started to implement some of the methods which he provide that have scientific backings and I can say although I'm still early on with these techniques I'm very hpefuly and have started to see a shift in my energy. It can be a strange place when you a anxious 20 year old, I love always been looking and thinking of ways to approach my anixety, but have never really committed, till I listened to this audiobook. For thank I will forever be greatful.

Solid book on dealing with anxiety
Like many people, I've struggled with various anxiety issues my entire life. And any person who has dealt with this will know it's something which affects everything you do. This book by Milton Harrison is a great primer on how to get it under control. The emphasis is on more natural ways to deal with it (like CBT techniques and meditation) rather than going to your doctor and getting prescribed 56 different pills. There is a lot packed into 3.5 hours of audio, so I recommend listening more than once. Great book

Another weapon in the fight against anxiety
It goes without saying that anxiety is one of the most debilitating and widespread mental conditions. And I feel no amount of drugs or therapy is going to make it go away. Like the drive for sleep, it is ingrained in nearly every human being of every age. Of course, some feel it more than others. Rather than try to make it go away, we need to gain a better understanding of it and find ways to reign it n. "The Anxiety Monster" teaches you mindfulness and how to recognize the signs of an oncoming anxiety attack, provides practical and easy-to-use strategies for managing anxiety, and helps take you to take control of your thoughts and feel empowered. I feel it is a necessary listen for everyone.

Good!
I like the fact that Harrison first takes a look at what anxiety is and what an anxiety disorder looks like. Then he moves on to explaining what an anxiety attack entails, that way the listener knows if they are going through an attack or not.
Then he moves on to different existing disorders, how you can recognize them and what's it's like living with this disorder.
After that he moves on to showing the reader how they can live with this disorder and which actions can help you in managing it, like relaxation techniques and mindfulness. Recommend! Good narration..
