Summary

The Wilder Brothers from NYT best-selling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continue in this emotionally charged enemies-to-lovers romance.

It took two days for me to know Kendall was the one for me.

And it took two years for me to realize I had to leave in order to protect her.

When I walked away, I told myself it was for the best. But now we work together, and every time we’re in the same room, we end up fighting. If we didn’t, we’d end up naked. Or worse–spilling heartbreaking secrets.

If she knew the truth, she’d either walk away for good or convince me to take a second chance. The first thing would break me, and the second would break her. I can’t let either of those things happen….

A second chance for Evan!

Evan is one of the Wilder boys and he was a mystery to me before this book. He and Kendall were married before she came to work as a Chef for the Wilder. Their whirlwind romance is told in this book but I had to have patience as for the whys of their separation. Kendall and Evan had a spark that wouldn’t fizzle, and after giving in it turned into a roaring fire. I loved their second chance. It made me feel so many things. And the narrators made the listen a greater experience. Loved this!!

A great second chance romance!

Always the One for Me by Carrie Ann Ryan is book 2 in The Wilder Brothers Series. This was a wonderful and beautifully written second chance romance. Second-chance is often a harder read for me but I loved how CAR wrote this one and we had just enough of the past to keep me intrigued and wanting to know their present story.

Kendall and Evan had a whirlwind romance years ago but now find themselves divorced yet still fighting their love and attraction. Both characters had emotional wounds and situations they were working through and I loved when Evan came around enough to really communicate with Kendall. I also really enjoy the relationship between the Wilder brothers and how they support and are there for one another.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are fantastic narrators and they really bring out the emotions of Evan and Kendall throughout the story.

finally get Kendall and Evans story, loved it

We finally find out why Kendall and Evan divorced, tbh Kendall finally finds out why they got divorced. She's been hurting all this time, wondering and worrying. Evan's been in turmoil since the 'accident" and his souls been crushed.
This story ended me, but in the best way. Loved the fact that Carrie Ann Ryan pulled me in and I was there with them, I could see what they could see, hear what they could hear and feel what they could feel. And the heat level was off the charts. No wonder they married after two days of knowing each other! And that heat and attraction hasn't dimmed in all these years. They have no chance of fighting it, and tbh they don't want to. And I am here for it!
The second book in the Wilder series and I love it so much. Right now I am living at the resort, I am watching all the boys and the ladies dance around each other while I sip my tea.

Absolutely loved it

Book 2 in Wilder Brother series by Carrie Ann Ryan
Evan is finally getting on with his life. Working with his brothers and finding his passion in the ranch.
Kendal finally settled in being the new chef for the Wilder brother ranch.
It’s been difficult seeing each other everyday mostly because they divorced but neither can be sure why.
This book is utterly heartbreaking and completely pulls on your heart.
The narrators for the audiobook Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell was absolutely fantastic and Carrie Ann Ryan know who would be perfect so each character.

Brilliant

Carrie Ann Ryan writes the most beautiful and heartbreaking novels possible. There is this sense of hopelessness that comes when you read/listen to all the ways that these people cant be together. It seems too much to overcome but Carrie Ann always seems to find a way to make it believable and so right for them to overcome everything that life throws at them. I love a second chance romance and this one was just spectaucularly well done, full of emotion, heat and chemistry.

The other thing that always pulls me to these books is the family aspect of the books, it is so strong and makes me wish they were my family.

I listened to the Audio version of this and it was just amazing so full of depth and emotion its one that I know I will be listening to again and again .

All the feels

Evan and Kendall meet, fall in love and shortly after get married. Two years into the marriage, Evan leaves her and breaks her heart. Years later these two are thrown together again when she takes a job at Evans family’s new business. There is so much left unsaid between these two but after all the years apart, the chemistry is still there. I truly felt for both of them. They will have to talk about the past and what they want for the future if a reconciliation between them is to happen. I loved this story so much and felt all the emotions for the two of them.

All the Feels

I have a weakness for grumpy, injured ex-military heroes. Having met Evan and Kendall in book one, One Way Back to Me, I knew their second-chance romance would be explosive, and Carrie Ann Ryan delivered ALL the feels. The chemistry between Evan and Kendall is so hot, as is the desire rolling off them. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did an excellent job and delivered such raw emotion.

So many emotions in this story

Evan and Kendall. Wow. They have such a muddled history. Married. Divorced. Co-workers. Oh, yeah. And now dating. So much has happened in the years since Evan was injured. He's angry and is dealing with his guilt over surviving. In addition, he feels guilty for the way he left Kendall and never explained it to her. But his biggest guilty-ness is the fact that what happened to the wives of his two best friends could've happened to Kendall and he never wants that to happen to her.

Kendall is angry that Evan never explained anything to her. She doesn't understand what went wrong. And she gets really frustrated when he just walks away.

These two are still in love, but how will they overcome their coping mechanisms. OMG and her parents are completely oblivious to her accomplishments and feelings.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are such a great pair of narrators for this book. Especially when Joe says his legendary keyword. That voice is just sinful. I felt Maxine handled this book really well. It's been awhile since I've listened to her so it was a nice reunion for me.

Always the one for me

I loved seeing Kendall and Evan reconnect. They had a whirlwind romance the first time around and Evan loved her so much that the thought of hurting Kendall had him walking away. When the two find themselves in each others lives again the pain and hate has the two ready to explode. Their story is an emotional ride. The two never stopped loving each other and their physical attraction is as strong as ever. When they finally stop fighting long enough to take a breath the reality of the physical and mental problems that come with veterans rears its head. Not only do we get to see Evan and Kendall working hard to find their way we also see how they are helping to figure out how to keep the Wilder business from going under from the threats of those out to see them fail.

Kendall and Evan’s story is a sweet and engaging listen that is full of emotions. The characters are strong, and the plot pulls you in. Narrators Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell bring this story to life nicely. You can feel the emotions as you listen, and I was quickly immersed in the story.

Emotional second chance romance

I had a chance to listen to the audiobook of Always the One for Me by Carrie Ann Ryan, an emotional second chance romance with so many feels, and I loved it. Narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, Evan and Kendall were once married and happy and now they are miserable and divorced. It has been years, but now they are working together and can no longer deny what has always been there between them. But with so much hurt and suffering, can they find their way back to each other or is it too late for them?

Evan broke my heart. He thought he was doing the right thing for Kendall because he loved her. He was broken and lost and yet so strong. I loved him. Kendall’s heart was broken and she was trying to protect herself from that kind of pain again. But even years later, the chemistry and connection between them is just as strong. I devoured their journey and am loving the Wilder family so much. Such a great listen and I am so excited for the next book!

Happy listening!

Emotional second chance story

Evan and Kendall are a couple that belongs together. It took me awhile to get over Evan divorcing Kendall and staying away for 8 years. It made me wonder if they hadn't met again when they both worked for the Wilder Winery how much longer he would have stayed away. But I give Evan credit for realizing right away he did need Kendall in his life and went about making that happen. Kendall was right to be wary but eventually admitted she still loved Evan and it was great how they worked together to make a future for themselves. The story emphasizes communication and family support. I enjoyed it and the satisfying ending.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrators Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life. Told in alternating points of view, their narration added to the enjoyment of the story.

Evan and Kendall

This is the second of the series and I loved Evan and Kendall. This is a second chance romance. Evan and Kendall are divorced and end up working together at the Wilder resort, he’s one of the owners being one of the Wilder brothers and she’s hired as the head chef and she’s the best of the best at her craft.

It’s amazing to watch how everything plays out and no matter how much the couple tries to deny the chemistry and fate keeps throwing them back in each other’s path.

Overall, this was simply amazing and I couldn’t stop once I started. The author delivers another great book and HEA.

The narrators were perfect for this book.

Beautiful second chance story

I knew Carrie Ann Ryan was going to make me cry with the Wilder brothers and for some reason I knew it would be with Evan. This second chance romance story has all the feels and so much built up angst from years apart. I love the explosive feelings these two have for each other. Kendall never really let go of Evan fully, she kept the name after all but was that about holding on to Evan or not feeling like she wanted to be a part of her own family. There was so much we learned about Kendall, Evan and their secretive past in this book.
When things start to get rough, Kendall knows that the Wilders will have her back, she is a Wilder after all (even when Evan still has his head up his behind). But what will Evan do when he sees Kendall finally trying to move on? Well that is all part of the explosive feelings and fun of this story.
As always I knew Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden would do nothing less than phenomenal with this story and half of my emotions probably fed from their voices.

Beautiful Story

I loved Kendall and Evan's story. It was an emotional rollercoaster but a beautiful end. I love how I was so into the read I didn't want it to end. Carrie Ann has a way of keeping her readers engaged.
Narrators did an amazing job with this and made Carrie Ann's story come to life beyond the page.

What’s not to love? ♥️

Omg I just love Evan and Kendall. I felt so sorry for both of them. It’s so hard to hate someone you truly Love. Understanding their back story and what happened to Evan was even more heart breaking. It was a journey back to each other and in the end love won. Finding who they are now and not who they were to see if that all encompassing love was still there. It was so worth it. These Wilder men are amazing. I cannot wait for the other brothers stories. And of course there is the magic of Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. They breathe life into everything they do. One of the best narrator duos.
