An emotional rollercoaster

The story was so engaging and I was very invested in the characters throughout. I loved the narration with no attempt to take on gender voices. Highly recommend and I’ll listen to other books by this author.

just brilliant

if this doesn't get made into a movie, there's no justice in the world! I was hooked right from the beginning, think in part due to the narrators lovely tone of voice, I just couldn't stop listening, i was slightly shocked by the ending, but it just made the book, will be looking for more books by this author as this was a first from them, won't be the last though.

All sugar and no spice

Well this book has been highly rated by others but for me it was far too syrupy and obvious. It could’ve been a Christmas Chick Flick! I got bored with the tiresome romance and nobody saying what they really felt. I know this was part of the plot and the “surprise end” but really who is that good looking and fabulous in all honesty. Give me an intense psychological thriller any day. Excellent narration though.

A beautiful, compelling read…

An outstanding story about Josie and Jack. The twists and turns in their story make this a book I couldn’t stop listening to. The narration is perfect too. The only warning I’d give is be prepared to not do anything else whilst listening to this as any plans you have will have to be changed as you’ll prioritise this book - it is a compelling and truly wonderful story.

Understated and indulgent

Despite the fact that you kind of know what you’re going to get with a book like this, apart from far too many ‘huffing out of breaths’ throughout, the story wasn’t too overcooked and tried to remain thoughtful rather than rely on usual clichés, helped by the wonderfully underplayed and unobtrusive narration.

Heart wrenching

I really enjoyed listening to this book but that’s not surprising as I love heather long and feral she gives life to each of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and as I was working my through I was so sure I knew where this book was going I had convinced myself that I had it sust but this book manage to pull the chair out from under me

Beautiful, heartwarming, yet sad, well written, well narrated.

I thought it was lovely, not quite the ending that I was hoping for but I guess that made it different, and it did end on a warm note. I did shed some tears. Stories don’t usually get me like that. Everything tied together well. The narrator was lovely, although I did slow her down one notch. Not sure if that was due to my settings being wrong or her reading too fast for me to take everything in. Anyway, I liked her voice and reading style. Would recommend if you don’t mind shedding the odd tear!
