Real life Game of Thrones

Well read and researched. Couldn't stop listening. More treachery than a US election. Deadlier than US friendly fire. The ancients made as many poor decisions as an EU referendum.
I certainly hope that there will be a sequel. I would love to hear the same reader and writer on what happened next. Excellent.

The ancient game of thrones

This truly amazing historical novel. Set in the struggle for power following the death of alexander the great this novel has vivid imagery ,lifelike and interesting characters with grand battles and power plays who considering the historical figures and events the book is based off it don't need much fleshing out to make gripping characters and events that pull you in which you are interested in and care about the next moves each character takes in this real life game of thrones .
Generals,princesses,Queens,old statesmen and even a lowly greek secretary to past kings play their part in the epic struggle for Alexander's legacy and to be one of the great conqueror's Successors. This tale takes place over a vast empire now on the brink of fracture and collapse from Greece and macedonia in the west ,Egypt in the south and the lands of Afghanistan ,Pakistan and India in the east rebellions and struggles for power are set on this stage .I highly recommend this novel to anyone even if you don't know anything about the history of Alexander the great and the wars of his Successors the story tells you what it needs you to know .

Alexander... He'ssss Greaaaaat.

Alexander's Legacy: To the Strongest by @RobertEFabbri, an @Isisaudio production. This was a very interesting book, kicking off after Alexander the Great's death and the carve up of his empire by his generals and close friends.

There are four things that made me choose this book: @PeterKennyVoice who was the narrator, the subject
of Alexander the Great (my middle name is Alexander don't you know and I am great), the lost library of Alexandria and finally that it is set in Babylonia.

The pros: it led the reader through a number of stories of historical events and locations like the ancient library of Alexandria. Another excellent positive of this book was @PeterKennyVoice the audio jewel in the crown of GB. The cons: there were too many fucking characters.

All in all, if you like historical fiction this is a good book for you and if you like being confused as fuck then you might also like this book. Stay fresh. 📚4/5⭐️ #bookreview #BookRecommendation #BookTwitter #HistoricalFiction

Gripping!

I review this purely as someone with a keen amateur interest in ancient history as opposed to a professional historian or scholar. This was written like a novel, i.e. a "dramatised" version of events. I wasn't expecting that, and bought the book expecting a traditional historical account, but I was gripped from start to finish. The upside of this style is that if done well, and it was done well, it is very engaging and brings the characters to life. The downside is that you are never quite sure what is known fact and what is surmised, deduced or even imagined by the author. I still feel I need to read a "normal" historical account for that reason. If I had read one first I would have been in a better position to judge that, and better placed to follow the large number of characters involved. However, if I had done that then I wouldn't have enjoyed the same level of suspense that I got from not knowing some of the amazing twists and turns in this true story.

The wars of lesser men

An entertaining romp into the chaos of alexander's death. The narrator is excellent and fabri handles the complex machinations of the successors with considerable aplomb. Recommended 😁
