Relaxing

A relaxing, easy listening recording - enjoyed whilst cooking and out driving and walking. A typical Erica James's story.

A lovely.....

story with some great characters and antics within the book. The narrator was very good at using different voices for the characters.

Disappointing narration

Narrator was not right for this book making story drag a bit.. Very similar storyline to another of author's books

Good story

I was a bit sceptical in the beginning as the story was not being read by Gerri Halligan, but a narrator that I had not heard of. In the end I really enjoyed the story and the narrator.

Light and easy read

This book was recommended by a good friend. I loved the depth and ease of the friendship portrayed between the 2 main characters.

The narrator’s characterization was very good. Would recommend this to my daughter.

Initially I thought

This book is too smaltzy for me but I persevered and in the end I enjoyed it. It is long and sometimes I thought oh get on with it……to the inevitable end. Kept me busy though,

Predictable

Maybe I’ve grown out of Erica James? I found it predictable, not particularly well developed and more of a plod than a ‘page turner’. Narration was poor. Lack of commas etc in the voice and incorrect stressing in sentences made you have to think twice about what would actually be on the page- and as for those terrible accents!!
