Act of Faith

I felt I must finish the book but it seemed never ending , predictable and monotonous. A thin story line with typical happy ending .
I was happy that it had finally finished !

Entertaining but a little obvious

I listened to this while recuperating so I was looking for an "easy listen" and it was certainly that. Christian group made for an interesting difference. Found Ali very shallow and was not convinced by her heartbreak. Sarah was much more interesting. Found Richard as the fount of all knowledge and comfort a bit of a tired cliché - the gay best friend who sorts it all out. Not sure why Ali's family were introduced - weak characters and did not add to story overall. However, it did keep me entertained.

A most entertaining story

It didn’t descend into slush and kept me from doing any chores until the end.
A bit silly towards the end but it still kept me reading ,well read too.
Reading this made me think and hope I would not be so stupid as to put up with a husband like Trevor.

Beautiful story, beautifully narrated.

As always Erica James produces another wonderful piece of fiction. Couldn’t stop listening, in the shower, when driving, cooking and every time I could grab an extra paragraph. Now I wish there was more.

Act of faith how true

Heart wrenchingly sad at times but so heartwarming in the end, makes one appreciate what one has and how not to take anything for granted.
To stop hiding behind the masks that you have in place for the world to see rather than show the real person within.

That's what I love about Erica James books each and every one I have read or listened to makes me look at myself and view certain things about my life differently..

I loved this...

...possibly more than any of her others, but that could be because both story and reader suited each other so well. Obviously written some years ago, before mobile phones, it showed its age in ways that still didn't matter a bit. it was the relationships between the strongly drawn characters that did, despite Trevor and some of the more bizarre actions of some of the others,

An odd mixture

I think this book has lots going for it, it's silly in places though as it seems so far fetched. Extremely well performed by Eve Matheson, who brings the characters alive. It has some farcical qualities at some points in the story and is achingly sad in others. Erica James always tells a good story whatever she writes about, I applaud her storytelling abilities.
