Summary
The number one New York Times best-selling thriller about an airport thrust into chaos by a whiteout blizzard: "A spellbinder" (The Denver Post).
As a raging blizzard wreaks havoc at Lincoln International Airport outside Chicago, airport and airline personnel try to cope with this unstoppable force of nature that is endangering thousands of lives. And in the air, a lone plane struggles to reach its destination. Over the course of seven pulse-pounding hours, a tense human drama plays out as a brilliant airport manager, an arrogant pilot, a tough maintenance man, and a beautiful stewardess strive to avert disaster.
Featuring a diverse cast of vibrant characters, Airport is both a realistic depiction of the airline industry and a novel of nail-biting suspense.

Airport
I read this novel many years ago and loved it.
I’m happy to say that the audible version only improved it.
The characters are all well drawn, and the story is excellent. The narrator brings the whole book to life and I couldn’t stop listening.
There are a lot of technical details which add to the authenticity of the book. Listening to the book now, in 2022, I found his ideas about the future of aviation fascinating.
I would thoroughly recommend to all.

Pronunciation!
I'm still listening to this book, but the miss-pronunciation of Aero Mexicano is driving me crazy. It is "air-o" not 'air-e-o'. I'll keep going, but I find this distracting.

Excellent book made even better.
Airport is a classic. Times have changed since Airport was written but the story is still exciting and informative at the same time.
BJ Harrison did a fantastic job of narrating Arthur Hailey’s great story. Hailey and Harrison are a winning combination. Defiantly a great purchase.

Excellent character development as well as exciting action plot
I’ve read “Airport” in hard copy and on Kindle more than once. The audio version (as is often the case) helped me hear and process plot details and character nuances even better.
While the narration could be better, it’s an outstanding piece of action fiction, with narrative quality and well-researched background detail woven carefully into the plot.
The main character of the airport manager is especially well-drawn, as were those of the manager’s brother and brother-in-law and other lesser characters. Few of this novel’s many imitators, even Hailey’s own works, can match it.

A classic masterpiece
Fantastic combination of insight , level of details, personal feelings, psychology, and Aviation environment. Being a doctor, pilot, and CEO, I confess that the author’s description is so accurate that I could easily identify with most of what is in this book. Even though the technology today is much more advanced, There is still a lot of lessons valid for today.

Loved the book. Glad it is finally on Audible.
Loved this book when it first came out. Loved the movie. And, loved the Audible book. Have read all of the Arthur Hailey books and hope all of them eventually are added to Audible.

Excellent read
The performer was one of the best. Really enjoyed his reading. Story was great... much more complex than the movie. This is one I’ll listen to again in a few months.

Great story, makes you feel like you are there
Being in aviation, it's hard to find a book that involves aviation knowledge and terms. Including the characters that makes the story come alive. recommend for someone that is interested in aviation.

a slice of the 70s
a fantastic, up close view of an airport in the 70s. plenty of interesting tangents that date the book perfectly
