Upon the cliffs of a remote Scottish island, Lòn Haven, stands a lighthouse. A lighthouse that weathered more than storms. Mysterious and terrible events have happened on this island. Story
Our bones are the silent witnesses to the lives we lead. Our stories are marbled into their marrow. Drawing upon her years of research and a wealth of remarkable experience, the world-renowned forensic anthropologist Dame Sue Black takes us on a journey of revelation. From skull to feet, via the face, spine, chest, arms, hands, pelvis and legs, she shows that each part of us has a tale to tell. What we eat, where we go, everything we do leaves a trace, a message that waits patiently for months, years, sometimes centuries, until a forensic anthropologist is called upon to decipher it.

Story
George Orwell's paean to the end of an idyllic era in British history, Coming Up for Air is a poignant account of one man's attempt to recapture childhood innocence as war looms on the horizon. George Bowling, 45, mortgaged, married with children, is an insurance salesman with an expanding waistline, a new set of false teeth - and a desperate desire to escape his dreary life. He fears modern times - since, in 1939, the Second World War is imminent - foreseeing food queues, soldiers, secret police and tyranny.

Mark Gatiss ( Sherlock, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones) reads chilling tales by the unsung master of the classic ghost story: E. F. Benson. There's nothing sinister about a London bus. Nothing supernatural could occur on a busy train platform. There's nothing terrifying about a little caterpillar. And a telephone, what could be scary about that? Don't be frightened of the dark corners of your room. Don't be alarmed by a sudden inexplicable chill.

Incredible Collection of M.R. James at His Finest
I loved this collection. As the winter nights draw in, this has been the perfect audiobook to listen to. It contains all of M.R. James' stories and he is an outstanding writer. Chilling and scary, and, sometimes, beautiful, I would recommend this to all.
The collection is expertly read by Jonathan Keeble. He is an outstanding narrator and couldn't be a better fit for James' work.
Unlike many, the collection is also fully indexed so you can clearly see which story is which.

No greater author of the classic ghost story
it's not fluff or coziness that gives M.R.James his reputation for greatness. Rather, it is his skill and imagination. The first stories are doubtless his best, but even fingernail clippings like 'the haunted dollhouse' can chill the blood.
