Summary
Celia de Gray makes inroads as the first saleswoman for Felding-Roth Pharmaceutical Company, but uncovers scandals, including inadequate testing of new prescription drugs and false advertising. She finds that her work, and her marriage to Dr. Andrew Jordan, pose difficult choices she didn't expect.
The best-selling author of Hotel and Airport, Hailey here unlocks the doors of the giant drug industry for a frank, revealing glimpse of drugs, discoveries, deals, and deceptions.
Written after three years of research, Strong Medicine is both a love story and a glimpse of the miracles and money that can possibly be made in the world of experimental drugs.
A multi-voice production.

So dated!
I loved Arthur Hailey’s books in my youth but they are so dated and so unrealistic. The accents (especially Yvonne’s) were cringingly bad.

Good meaty story
I enjoyed this book a lot, I'm a great fan of medical books and dramas and this ticked all the boxes. It is obviously an older title but the exploration of the issues of sexism and feminism provided an extra level to the book. The narration was interesting with several voices, making it more like a drama than a straight narration. Overall most enjoyable.

I just love it!
Any additional comments?
I love Arthur Hailey. It is so sad that amazon dont have more of his books available. I'd love to hear Airport, Hotel, and Final Diagnosis

They Just Don't Produce These Like This Anymore
Sometimes the subject material is not the best, but Arthur Hailey writes good thrillers regardless. Add the fact that this is a multi-voice production, and you have an interesting book. Unlike a previous listener, I found this an excellent production. Some people have no patience. I say buy, listen and enjoy. How many multi-voice productions are made like this nowadays? Very few! This book is entertaining as well as informative. Dated, yes because this came out in 1985. Still, I say this book is enjoyable and fun. Enjoy!!

A 15 hour lecture from my mother!
Argh!! I am so disappointed. Mr. Hailey should have stayed in retirement. I can't believe how preachy this was. I felt as though I was listening in on a senate hearing on the evils done by pharmaceutical companies. I would comment further, however I have wasted over 15 hours of my life listening to this and am done. Save your money/credits....

Loved it!
At first I felt a bit disturbed when I heard that this audiobook was dramatized rather than just read, but then I loved it. The performance of all actors turned out to be brilliant and I eagerly listened. I wish more Hailey's books were published as such.
I read a few Hailey's books as a teenager and loved them all so I decided to re-read some of them (in this case re-listen). Hailey is brilliant in knowing the topic he writes about, knowing the industry he sets his story into and that was what has always amazed me. When reading his books, I felt like it was written by an insider. Many times, I was left wondering, if people, companies, events, and stories really happened of were completely fictitious. Overall, great book, great story. I wish there was a sequel to the story as it ends open ended.

Muy ilustrativo
El tema tratado mantiene el interés del lector de principio a fin y además permite una mirada profunda respecto a la relación entre laboratorios médicos visitadores intereses comerciales y autoridades fiscalizadoras. Y la razón de ser de cada cual.

Disappointing story and poor narration
I really love Arthur Hailey’s other books. I read Hotel and Airport when I was a teenager and have reread both books as an adult. They remain among my favorite books.
I was very disappointed in this book. The characters just weren’t developed to the extent that would make me like or even care about them.
I couldn’t stand the narration. The character voices were unappealing and fairly expressionless. I felt like they were reading the words off the page, and at other times it seemed like I was being lectured. The voice for the character Celia was the worst, absolutely annoying.
I couldn’t finish listening to this book. I kept thinking it would get better but I finally abandoned it less than halfway through.

A world within a book
I loved this book. No matter the positive outcomes that sound luckier than most real life situations, this book gave me a look into an entire life span of characters and who they are. This book has delighted my life and I wish a series would to be made of it !

Absurd, unrealistic, and poorly narrated
I love Audible.com and have listened to hundreds of books over the years. While some are better than others, both in terms of the writing and the narration, I would say that all of the books I have listened to have been what I would call professional...until now. This story was preposterous, and the narration (by several people) was atrocious. It sounded like a badly performed amateur production all the way around.

Disappointing
I love medical thrillers, but I was disappointed with the story and the narration. Most of the narrators were monotone.
