Absolutely amazing!
I don’t know what else to say. I want to tell everyone I meet interested in sci-fi, to read / listen to these books. The story, the characters and their portrayal by the reader, it’s just perfect. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

This series is so goddamn exciting!
I've been burning through this entire series and after every book the scope of this universe gets bigger and I yearn for more of it. I hope it never ends.

Just brilliant!
Setting the standard by which I'll be judging others.
I have found myself going to bed at 5 or 6am multiple times now; mostly from being unable to keep from knowing what happens next.

Left wanting more!
Amazing series! I've binged all 4 in a couple weeks! I can't wait for the next. My first experience with LITRPB and can't believe I've lived over 30 years (half of that playing games) and not knowing these types of books are out there! Love it!

I want to like it.
The premise of these books is great. I enjoy the magic system and the spin on dungeon core. However, the supporting characters are all one dimensional and present to call the main character an idiot until he explains himself. Even though everyone gets fully on board with every plan he has, they reset to doubting and calling him an idiot the next time. Every guy is a “cool guy” moto-grunt whose witty banter is some variation of “that’s what she said” and the women are all disapproving “oh-you…” caretakers. There are also cringe waste-of-time sex scenes which would have the same effect if they were just hinted at. I’ve made it though 8 books by Jez since he has great ideas and worlds, but he writes people as he knows them, and he doesn’t seem to know very many people. This is probably my last try at his books.

Disappointing
I’ve loved this series up until this book. It seems like every other chapter MC just makes stupid decisions as well as the people around him. Then him going off on these little tangents in his head that drag on. Stats were ridiculous. Then we can’t forget the the new bf/gf romance that seems to dominate the story almost as much as the fighting and working on the dungeon. I’ve skipped so much of this book. I couldn’t even finish. The final straw was him still taking about sex or wanting to have sex while an alarm was sounding. All that BS is completely unnecessary and ruined it for me.

Lacking
The pure stat dumps really broke the story in a big way, it also broke the pacing of the book. I found myself skipping 4-5 mins of the book at a time and still finding the stat dumps continuing, I feel half the book could be carved out and you would still have the same takeaway of the story. I will not buy the next book at release but will wait on reviews to see if this trend continues, if I ever buy the next one, in my opinion this was a waste of a credit.

A fantastic continuation of the story of the Storm Lord…
From the start this book builds and develops the back story in a meaningful way; all the way till the very last second. You will enjoy this book and look forward to the next.

Raging manchild MC with major ADHD gets worse
MC is an incompetent tyrant who took advantage of desperate people into his dungeon and forced servitude. The Side Characters develop Stockholm syndrome and did all of the management for the MC while also babysitting this idiot when he has tantrums or having ADHD episodes.
