About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Three couples. One therapist's couch....
Alice and Niall used to be lovers, best friends and parents, in that order. Now they're no longer on the same page or even reading from the same book.
Ann thought when she and Ken retired, it would be their second spring. Instead, it feels more like an icy winter.
Orla is falling in love with boyfriend Paul, but her complicated past makes her unsure if she can ever be intimate with anyone.
Three couples find themselves telling a stranger about the most private part of their lives - their hopes, their disappointments, their awkward realisations.
Can they learn to be honest with each other? And what life-changing decisions will be made when they do?

absolutely brilliant
A brilliant book, thoroughly enjoyed every chapter. Best book I've read in a while.

Repetitive
I was hearing the same phrases over and over, I felt like saying “you’ve already said that’. Also got quite frustrated that the characters didn’t tell the truth but then I suppose that that was the whole point of the story. Good vocalisation though.

Great book. NSFW ;)
Really enjoyed this book. You really get involved. The narrator does a great job with all the accents.

Nice narrator but the storyline was poor
Enjoyed the narration but unfortunately that was it. the storyline was not engaging or interesting, I only finished it as I had a few long car journeys. Very predictable, wouldn't recommend unfortunately

Not for me - boring and extremely repetitive
I hate to be unkind but I thought this story was very dull to listen to. It was performed really well and the concept is a good one but its badly written IMO...it needed another few rounds of editing. I felt like I was listening to the same phrases and paragraphs again and again. Some of the sessions with the therapist were nearly as long as a real life session! I seem to be in the minority though so maybe it was just wrong for me.

Lame
Very disappointed. Kept wait for the stories to pick up and then the end really matched the rest of the stories : felt like it could have been a nice book but left a unsatisfactory feeling lingering.
