Summary
You can't trust your future until you uncover your past....
Dragonfly Farm has been a home and a haven for generations of Melchiors - arch rivals to the Culbones, the wealthy family who live the other side of the valley.
Nestled amidst soft, rolling apple orchards in the depths of the Somerset countryside, life there is dictated by the seasons and cider-making.
The farm is idyllic and everyone falls under its spell. But its thick stone walls hold many secrets, and this summer everything will change for the family living there....
Laden with heady summertime atmosphere, A Home from Home is full of family drama and gorgeous scenes you wish you could step into: the very best of Veronica Henry's storytelling on her biggest ever canvas - crossing three generations of one family.

Super
I was very excited to see a new Veronica Henry because I have enjoyed all her work so much. This book is a little romantic, perhaps even a little bit mushy at times, and the ending is just too perfect to be real, but this doesn’t in any way spoil the enjoyment.
The story is very cleverly woven, and all the threads come together beautifully at the end. All the main characters are warm and realistic, and feel like real people, fitting into the story perfectly in their own individual ways, making this a delightful listen.
Beautifully narrated by Alison Downing - I struggled a little bit at first, because I am so used to hearing Alison in her role in the Archers, and I thought she sounded a bit too sweet and whimsical, but this wore off, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her narration.

Super story great characters excellent performance
I have enjoyed each and everyone of Veronica Henry’s books. Yes slightly unreal; yes slightly unlikely; yes makes you laugh out loud and cry but isn’t that what life is like?
To escape into the world of the Meltchers and Culbones for so many hours was bliss. And to have a story with no violence, no bad language, no zombies and lots of lovely well mannered, well meaning people was an absolute pleasure.
Can’t wait for the next instalment - feels ripe for a revisit!

A wonderful feel good book
A beautiful story, I didn’t want it to end. The Melchoirs and the Calbones have been locked in a feud for a century, over ownership of Dragonfly Farm. Tabatha accepts help from a Calbone and everything starts to unravel. A wonderful feel good book, like a heartfelt hug. I really grew to care about the characters and the fate of Dragonfly Farm and hope there will be a sequel.
