About this listen
The blood of dragons pumps through his veins. Greatness awaits!
Kobolds cower at the bottom of the food chain, forced to eke out a meager existence in the most wretched of caves.
Most have made peace with their lot in life; one of eating scraps and carrion. They hide and run from predators, delaying the inevitable day when they aren't fast or sneaky enough to make their escape.
But not Samazzar. Sam is different from other Kobold pups.
Traps and caves might keep him and his people alive, but sometimes, just living isn't enough. Dragon blood runs through him, and Sam isn't willing to settle for mere survival. Whether by claw, magic, or cunning, one day he will soar above the plains, predator rather than prey.
And nothing–be it the mockery of his tribe, the hazards of the deep caves, or even the almost insurmountable difficulty of successfully evolving his bloodline–nothing is going to stop him.
Join Samazzar and his boundless optimism on his quest in A Dream of Wings and Flame, a new LitRPG series from best seller Cale Plamann. Sam must throw off the shackles placed on his tiny scaled body by fate so he can claim his birthright once and for all.

Great story!
This was a really good book. Proper progression for the main character from humble beginnings. His dreams, while unrealistic, made for a compelling story and I look forward to seeing him try to reach greater feats.
The background characters, especially the rest of the trio, were great too. The setting made sense and was well described.
I was a bit disappointed that the one gate guard the MC is friendly with was seemingly forgotten later on but it wasn't a big deal.
The narration was great too. Would definitely recommend to fans of progression fantasy.

Worth the listen
Both the story and voice acting make this one well worth the read. And I can’t wait to see where this goes for Little Dragon.

Good story marred by forced LGBT undertones
The characters are likeable enough and the world seems interesting and I had fun listening to it overall, but the constant and overly obvious allegory is annoying.
Having said that, and hating allegory generally as I do, I’m loath to admit that I missed it once the author decided to just throw it out of the window completely during the goblin section of the book. For some reason the author saw fit to explain to us how goblins are hermaphrodits with “they/them” pronouns. Not only was this wildly unnecessary and served noting bro the plot, but it makes listening to it just sound super awkward and a little confusing at times.
