About this listen
I thought he'd always be mine, even when I was forced to say goodbye. We were never meant to let go, but it happened anyway. Too bad I didn't know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would've held on a lot tighter.
Two years later, we were exactly where we'd always planned to be. I'd kept my promise. He'd forgotten all about his. Not only had he moved on, but the person he'd moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart.
I guess this is the part where I'm supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again. This isn't that kind of story. My heart might have been broken, but it refused to fall out of love.
Contains mature themes.

All the Feels!
I’m not one of those people that believes a trigger warning should be issued if a book contains cheating, but I also don’t seek those types of books out either. I went into this book with my eyes wide open, I knew it contained cheating before I started but, I was intrigued by the synopsis enough that I wanted to give it a try. Plus, one of my trusted book people has been shouting about it, so I knew she wouldn’t steer me wrong. And, sheesh. All. The. Feels. Ella Fields, yet another author that has been hidden from me. What the heck, guys? Why? I’m totally blown away by what I’ve just read. I do not remember the last book that had me this invested in the characters and what would happen next. I swore…. a lot. I wanted to throw my kindle on several occasions, I chuckled, and I shed a few tears. Ella is a queen! Her writing just draws you in and keeps hold of you. Making you feel things you don’t want to, making you think things you never thought you would, and making you question everything you thought you believed. I’m still in awe and I can’t stop thinking about this book, I can’t move on to anything else. Ella has broken me. In the best way possible. I know I’ll be spending time with these characters again.
These characters, Gah! I had so many different emotions throughout this book when it came to the characters. I adored Daisy and Pippa. At times I wanted to smack Quinn in the face BUT, he did win me over in the end. I was unsure about Callum, but it didn’t take long before he found a place in my heart. I want more Callum! Alexis? I don’t remember the last time I disliked a character as much as I disliked her, in fact, I might even go as far as to say I hated her. I’m pretty sure I was supposed to feel sorry for her, but I just couldn’t. The things she did, the way she acted. No! I really hope there are plans for books for Callum and Pippa, they both need to have their stories told.
The connection between Daisy and Quinn was beautiful and you could feel it, it jumps out from the pages and hits you. The chapters that showed how they were when they were younger really added to this story, it gave them depth and allowed us as readers to connect to them individually and see their growth as people. Seeing them through the years and their connection, it really makes what happens gut-wrenching and heart-breaking. I felt everything. I’m still feeling everything. These are not perfect characters, they make mistakes, but they own them. They’re not intentionally malicious, they’re young and finding their way. The epilogue, man, it is just perfect, everything you could hope and wish for as you read this story. This is a second chance romance that will have you reading well into the night and reminding you why you love to read, especially the romance genre.
This cover has my heart. It is so freaking beautiful. I want to give it all the stars. And I absolutely love that the audio cover includes the narrators.
I loved this story so much when I read it, as you can probably tell from the above. Well, when I found out it was being produced on audio I was giddy with excitement, especially that one of my go-to voices was narrating. Aiden Snow could read me a boring textbook and I’d be hooked, he just has one of those enticing voices.
Once I started listening I realised two things, 1. I was even more in love with this book, the emotion the narrators perform with during this production is stellar and captures the listener's hearts and minds and immerses them in the story. I thought Amelie was great, her female voices and accents were spot on, I struggled a little with her male voices, I’m sure it’s just personal taste, they just didn’t sound as male as I would have liked, and that is something I need to fully enjoy a performance. However, she was perfection as Daisy, the angst and the emotion shone through. Aiden, oh man, can I just post all the heart eyes I can here? I’ve always enjoyed his performances, but Quinn, man, he nailed Quinn, the angst and conflict the character experienced really stood out, I found myself swooning and then catching myself and saying ‘wait a minute, we hate Quinn!’ (Mr. TakeCare). Both Amelie and Aiden take Ella’s words and bring them to life, it’s such a beautiful thing to experience- hearing a story that breaks your heart and pieces it back together again. The audio is a dual narration and I'd say it's probably a 60/40 split to Amelie; much of the first half of the book is from Daisy's PoV. The production was wonderful with no issues that I noted.
I really hope that Bittersweet Always is produced on audio, although, I’m going to need supplies to help me cope. That’s even more gut-wrenching than SF.

took a while to get into the rhythm of this book
I enjoyed it and was glad I stuck with it, a bit repetitive in places but it did make me laugh and cry.
