In-demand hypnobirthing coach Hollie de Cruz provides you with the skills and tools to make any birth feel safe, calm, connected and empowering. Drawing on her experience working with new mums, including Fearne Cotton and Giovanna Fletcher, Hollie de Cruz helps you prepare for a positive (not 'perfect') birth experience and approach motherhood with confidence in yourself and your instincts.
Your Baby, Your Birth will teach you:
- That birth is safe - listen to your body, embrace the changes, prepare your mind and relax during pregnancy.
- Exercises and breathing techniques for labour and birth for you and your birth partner, along with guided meditations to keep you calm and engaged.
- How to trust your instincts, understand your body and baby and make informed decisions throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
Hollie de Cruz, creator of the award-winning yesmum positive affirmation cards, is renowned for demystifying hypnobirthing, and her down-to-earth, realistic approach is highly sought after.
Whatever kind of birth you are planning, let Hollie de Cruz provide you with a set of deep relaxation, mindfulness and meditation tools for an empowering experience.

Excellent book. Shame about the formatting
I really enjoyed Holly’s book which has made me feel much more confident about the approach to my first child’s birth. My only criticism is that the numbered chapters on audible don’t seem to match the chapters of the book. Therefore it is really difficult to go back and re-listen to something easily which you would want to do with this book. Also I had to wait until I got to the end to find the mp3s (they are the last two chapters everyone!) which would have been hugely useful to know from the beginning.

No MP3 tracks otherwise great
This audiobook has been great to listen to, I feel I have learnt a lot and will be listening again and again over the next few months to practice the exercises and get ready for a calm and empowered birth!
Only problem is it says it comes with the relaxation MP3 but I don’t have it....?

Seriously get this book if your pregnant...
I bought this book for my pregnant wife and myself to listen to during her pregnancy. We had a perfect baby boy on the 17th of April, right in the middle of a pandemic, my wife used hypnobirthing techniques learned entirely from this audiobook. She was in control and breathed our baby into this world.
Listen to the affirmations, practice the breathing and believe it will help. I can’t recommend this enough.

No point whatsoever
This book has no point whatsoever. She talks about the wonderfulness of hypnobirthing without ever giving any concrete lesson, examples or advise. Useless

A must read for all Mums and partners
For a first time mum-to-be this book has provided me with strength and empowerment going through my first pregnancy and into my first birth. It is a very relateable, easy-to-read book dedicated to easing a mothers journey. Hollys celebration of women has made me feel strong and powerful and I will continue to practise these techniques far and beyond birth. Thank you for a wonderful read and a new way of life.

Not for me
Too self indulgent and unrealistic. as a health care professional I found the medical stuff oversimplified to the point of inaccuracy. So maybe I'm just to sinical but I need something more middle ground. I did like the readers voice however, and had a few good naps in the 90 mins I tryied before giving up.

Not as good as the Sophie Fletcher book
I listened to both mindful hypnobirthing as well as this one, Your Baby, Your Birth. I found Sophie’s voice more relaxing and hypnotic for me, in the relaxation tracks. I did enjoy Hollie’s stories of positive births from various mums - I see what she was trying to do because having successful births as examples is good for my confidence. What I found annoying was that it felt like a bit of an advertisement. “I went to Hollie for this..” “I joined Hollie’s class...” Even the relaxation track started with her introducing herself and her company, which felt really unnecessary.

Not great
I struggled to finish this. I found it very airy fairy and the affirmation tracks are terrible.
The book talks about some of the decisions you'll need to make (eg vitamin k or managed delivery of placenta) but doesn't actually explain the pros and cons so you have to do additional research. The breathing exercises were useful but they are hidden somewhere in the book so trying to find them again is difficult. It would be useful if they were included as separate tracks at the end like the affirmations.

Quite repetitive
Some very good points and theory which I enjoyed but for me it just felt too long and repetitive and therefore lost some of its gravitas.

A must for every woman (not just the first timers) due to embrace childbirth!
Great listen - not ‘fluffy’.
Incredibly informative, professional and reassuringly educational. Thank you so much for this insight

Nice book
I guess this book just wasn't for me. Very informative and interesting to listen, though there was some advice I personally didn't like. I didn't listen to affirmations either. It was inconvenient to play them as they were as last book chapters.
