Insightful. Wish I’d have listened before baby #1
I read this book as a refresher on hynobirthing as I attended a course with baby #1. I wish I’d have saved my money and just bought this book as the course didn’t really work for me and my partner but this book was excellent. Whilst the focus is about mindfulness and hynobirthing I learnt so much more to do with the physiology of birthing and it helped me understand some of the problems I had with baby #1 that I had blamed myself for which Infact were absolutely not and I also learnt about my birth choices and rights. This kind of thing should be available as some form of antenatal preparation to all parents.
I’m really looking forward to my second birth now and I’ve opted for a homebirth.

Brilliant preparation for a new or second time mum
The only issue is finding the tracks you want to repeat listen to without chapter headings. Would be so useful to have an index.

Excellent
Found this was great for preparing my mind for birth. Ended up having an intervention free home water birth for my first baby and it was so empowering!

Really helped me, loved it
I highly recommend this audiobook.
I started listening to this book when I was about 16 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy) and found it extremely helpful to let go of some of my fears around birth and feel calm and confident.
I did a weekend Hypnobirthing course with my first pregnancy but I think it was too late in my pregnancy and I didn't properly embrace the techniques and unfortunately I had an EMCS. Knowing what I know now, I think this was completely avoidable.
This time around I listened to the audiobook and the meditations everyday. Sophie's voice is so calm and soothing and really helped to relax me. Whenever I was suffering with pregnancy insomnia I would listen to one of her meditations and 9 times out of 10 I would fall asleep. In the last few weeks of my pregnancy everyone I spoke to commented on how calm and self assured I seemed, which is exactly how I felt, even despite being about to give birth during lockdown.
I had a really positive VBAC last week (with no medical pain relief), and I am convinced a lot of that was down to the techniques I learnt in this book, Sophie's calm voice, and the information she provides about birth. I felt so much more empowered and knowledgeable this time compared to with my first baby.
