Summary

From her first step onto Canderfey University's campus, Joanna Wick, the new librarian-in-training, is overwhelmed by the bustle of people and the wealth of magical information now available to her. Most overwhelming of all, she attracts the attention of three handsome professors. But Aiden King, Callum Pike, and Isaac Metclaffe are a coven waiting to find their fourth and complete their home, and Joanna knows she can't be that witch. She's barely magical.

Aiden has been waiting 20 years to complete his coven. Callum doesn't want to disappoint his covenmates by turning down another potential fourth. Isaac has found a home with them both and only wants the best for his lovers. Have they found what they've all been waiting for in the skittish new hire at the university library?

Contains mature themes.

Overall a sweet story

Kathryn Moon is very good at writing sweet RH stories. This one feels like what it is - hear earlier work. Still very good and engaging but I have read much better work by her in her later books. Will be finishing the series.

Interesting world of magic

I really enjoyed this book, the performances of the narrators were great and a pleasure to listen to. The story was tantalising and exciting, I hope to find out more about the rest of the coven in the next book.

Really liked these characters!

Alrighty, so I have no clue why I waited so long to listen/read this series by Kathryn Moon! I loved the men in this coven and LOOOOOVED they were already intimate and in love with each other. My biggest guilty reading pleasure is M/M so it was awesome to have that element in this RH story.

Joanna grew on me in this book. I kinda had moments I wanted to knock some sense into her, but by the end of the book she was amazing. Characters have to grow in these books anyway, so Kathryn did a good job showing that just in book 1. I thought the concept was cool and defeating the hollow was interesting. Love the idea of writing magic and Joanna not knowing about her heritage and powers this whole time. Loved the other coven and can't wait to see more of Bryce and all of them. Maybe they can get their own novella, I am super intrigued by them, not gonna lie. I loved the differences in Joanna's men and how they figure out and handle that she is their 4th coven mate. BTW the scene with Isaac and Callum was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I mean all the sex scenes in this series is amazing haha.

I have heard one of the narrators before and was not disappointed! The other narrator is new to me and did a great job. I usually am not a super fan of narrators doing British accents but this was fantastic. They captured their personalities perfectly. Really read the story how I imagined it in my head, even adding some great inflections and accents I wasn't expecting. Superb job, will definitely will listening to the rest of the series and other books by these narrators.

Engrossing!

It seems like a bad pun to say this book was so well written, but it's true. The story line is smooth and drops tiny hints of things to come. Overall a refreshing story. The intimate scenes are bodily believable and enthusiastically narrated. There are M/M relationships that are wholeheartedly beautiful and independent of the main female. Can't wait for the second book to come to Audible; it is better than the first which is a tremendous feat. I highly recommend this book!!

Delightful! Good plot and character growth

I enjoyed these more than expected. This is just really well written polyamory. They read fast. They're very much popcorn, but they're quality popcorn. My review is for the whole series.

Pros:
-- The men are so in love with each other and have been together for a decade. She comes in and the dynamic changes, and we actually get to see the tension and growing pains. It's not all instantly fine.
-- Nonbinary side character who's fantastic
-- Character growth! Everyone grows in a believable way
-- None of the men feel interchangeable, they all have different personalities
-- Really cool magic
-- Book 3 is a refugee crisis and so well handled. It's set about 20 years after a massive war and the politics are complicated and real. I loved the story surrounding them and the world feels big.
-- Joanna (the FMC) is very likable by the end. She's a shy small town girl but she never feels helpless. She's powerful, but never feels overpowered. She also isn't the most powerful person in the series, which was a nice change. She isn't the "Chosen One" or anything. She's just accidentally falls into adventures when trying to learn about her magic.
-- Excellent performance. Cornell Collins has such a stately voice and Sienna Frances makes Joanna feel human but likable
-- It's a lot more of an established-relationship than a getting-together story, which I really appreciated because the dynamics once everyone decided to be together are so interesting

Take - It - Or - Leave - It:
-- She's a bit whiney in the first two books (She grows a lot by the end of the series. She's a shy librarian from a small town, so if you can stick through her insecurity in the beginning, she gets a lot more confident)
-- It's a babylogue but the foreshadowing is so thick that I wasn't actually mad about it, everyone wanted a baby and they're in their 30s, so it didn't feel too forced
-- It's a fast burn and the plot can be predictable at times
-- Pretty vanilla smut, one spanking scene but that's about as spicy as it got.

I would recommend them. They're a good time. I probably won't reread them, but if you want some quality polyamory with really cool magic and likable characters that grow a lot, they're worth the time.

A happy little read!

I one-shotted this audiobook while on a long trip. Managed to cover ~500 miles and barely remember a minute of the actual drive. Narrators did a great job. Everything moved at a nice pace. Was interesting enough to keep me immersed in the story. The characters were well-developed with their own unique personalities. The relationships between the love interests went deeper than just “ooh pretty! Must bang!” The steamy scenes were mildly spicy without being overly cringey. There was a clear and concise plot line. It was an easy, comfortable read and I look forward to the next book.

creative and lovely

this book was wonderful. a very sweet poly romance with great world building and edge of your seat magical drama. all the character were also so interesting and didn't have the usual red flags of pathetic main character and toxic love interests.

Magical

Loved this book the same I loved Kathryn Moon's other books. Only this one has that touch extra bit of magic. It's reverse harem in a world of magic users. I love that the main character works at a library and the story happening around the romance is very mysterious. Very much enjoyed :)

good story seemed a bit rushed

Overall a good story with an interesting concept and world building. The FMC has some self esteem issues but is still confident in her own way. It helps keep it more realistic considering her background and the fast pace of change that happens around her. I would have liked a bit more relationship building and character development, the story seemed a bit rushed but it did hint that there was some magical tie pushing the Coven together so perhaps that can account for the "instalove" vibe. I did enjoy the different personalities but hope the angst shifts in a different direction as the series goes on away from the self esteem issues so it shows growth and doesn't get repetitive, we shall see! Narration was fantastic.

Such a lovely story!

It was an amazing story. But what I loved most was the female narrator! She made me picture Keira Knightly. The male narrator put a little too much drama in the sex scenes for my tastes. Overall, I loved it!
