About this listen
From the Sunday Times bestselling author of The House in the Cerulean Sea, Under the Whispering Door and In the Lives of Puppets, Wolfsong is a story of love, loyalty, and family.
Ox Matheson was twelve when his father taught him a lesson: Ox wasn’t worth anything and people would never understand him. Then he left.
Ox was sixteen when the energetic Bennett family moved in next door, harbouring a secret that would change him forever. For the family are shape-shifters, who can transform into wolves at will. Drawn to their magic, loyalty and enduring friendships, Ox feels a gulf between this extraordinary new world and the quiet life he’s known. He also finds an ally in Joe, the youngest Bennett boy. Joe is charming and handsome, but haunted by scars he cannot heal.
Ox was twenty-three when murder came to town, and tore a hole in his heart. Violence flared, tragedy split the pack and Joe left town, leaving Ox behind. Three years later, the boy is back. Except now he’s a man – and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.
Wolfsong is the first book in beloved the Green Creek series by bestselling author TJ Klune. Continue the journey with Ravensong.

The age gap is just ok with everyone ? I found it completely creepy tbh it's lightly touched on but even the circumstances of there first meeting would rise massive red flags in a normal town
Little random kids approaches and smells you
Climbs you
Brings you back too meet his parents and family
after the kid was recently abducted and abused ? family's reaction on the maybe possibility this is there son's mate just does not vibe with me
2
The nsfw scenes make me,think of bad fanfiction the awkward manners of it how the bi side was basically erased halfway through the book
3
The omega rouge group being the biggest threat but can't put together the concept of working together surely not all of them are feral as they seem to outnumber other werewolves also why don't any of the wolf's use moden weapons one gun would of solved so many problems
4
Ox I really wanted to love this silly fool but lack of his own self awareness ability to change and the way he just is so docile too everything what happens to him made me not love him as a character
Things I love
The ambience and feeling of the book certainly pulls you into the world
The Lore was interesting but nothing really New typical pack hierarchy stuff shared psyche the only real oh that's cool and New was mc gaining enhanced human abilities when he was human
Some characters stand out
Carter
Joe
Elizabeth
Kelly
The rest just felt very one dimension including the mc for me at least I'm hoping the other books flesh out the other characters some more
The nvp of this by far the narrator the change in accents inflextion emotions tone pitch range great ten,out of ten,
Very cruel and sadistic villain with a clear objective
Great Characters but mediocre story

I don't want to go into much detail as this is absolutely a story you need to experience firsthand. The story itself spans over years and the way everything is woven together is just beautiful. There is lots of humour, found family and bond building not just for our MCs but with the side characters too who I just adored! There is also heartbreakingly poignant moments, chest ache inducing angst and throughout is this theme of being enough exactly as you are, acceptance and belonging. I loved the way the wolves were written, the way they moved, the things they did etc this is the first time in a long time where that element of things felt right to me, this is how you write shifters in my opinion, as that aspect of their characters bled into every part of their characterisation and it wasn't just them turning at the full moon etc... what TJ did by not sticking to the typical lore with Ox's character was so refreshing! I was so invested in this world and these characters that I was genuinely worried going into the last couple of chapters of this book, I even voice noted a friend saying if any of my babies died I would riot! I'm not someone that cries easily when reading books yet this made my face leak and for that I thank it! The audiobook was great and Kirt Graves did a fantastic job narrating. I will without question be continuing with this series and I can't wait to see what kind of journey the next book takes me on.
This was everything I needed it to be
