Summary

Werewolves are hunting me.

I was just an ordinary girl waiting tables in a small-town bar. I had no idea magic was real. That was, until I backed my car over a werewolf a couple times.

In my defense, the wolf was trying to murder me, and I was all out of mace.

Now I’ve got a cult of rogue wolves on my heels, and the only one who can protect me is Jaxson Laurent - the leader of the Chicago pack.

He suspects I’m special and can’t take his eyes off me, but the problem is - he’s the sworn enemy of my family. Every time we get close it feels like something is going to rip out of my soul, but the heat between us is irresistible.

With danger around every corner and wolves howling in the night, I need to master my magic and stand my ground, or I’ll be dead before the next moon rises.

Not a cliffhanger but pretty close.

I'm going to keep this simple. The performances are great. But the "hero" and his clan are really unlikable, and unreasonable which frustrated me throughout this book. I was able to skim through a lot of it without missing much in each chapter. Overall the book is good but I would definitely wait till book two comes out to get this book.

I want more

I really enjoyed the book. The two narrators did a really good job, I love when they have two narrators and do it correctly.

Storyline I gave a 4⭐️ because I wish there was more and one or teo things different. I don’t like some of the was the main female character mind works sometimes, she comes across double standards which always rubes me the wrong way.

Next thing I wish the book was a little longer so everything does have to happen in just 5 days thats crazy so much unfolded in just 5 days.

Lastly for me it totally left it on a cliffhanger without being a total cliffhanger.

Now hopefully you read this far - over this book was very good lots of flirting, we got that slow heat burning, some laughs and some tears. I really like books that can that me on a roller coaster of emotions! 💜 I couldn’t stop listening to this book and finished in one day. Now I want the second book!!!

Hope this helps and happy listening

Wolf Marked is stunning

Savannah is a waitress without any knowledge of her magical background. She soon learns that there is a lot more of this world when werewolves come to hunt her down.Jaxson, also a werewolf cokes to save her, despite Savannah being related to his enemies because of a prophecy.Savannah is thrust into the supernatural world and learns more about her family, her powers and her own destiny. Savannah is smart, sassy and very strong willed. She definitely surprised me more then once with her quick decision making and witty dialogue. She is definitely the perfect female to take on Jaxson,The alpha who is used to being In charge. Veronica Douglas did an absolutely outstanding job writing this book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this entire book. I can’t wait to find out what will happen in the next book. The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life.Samantha did such an amazing job telling Savannah character and Jeffrey did an amazing job telling Jaxson character. I highly recommend this to everyone

Okay shifter romance, main female was not great

I almost DNF this one which is a surprise because I love shifter romances. This is one of those scenarios where the author made an unlikable leading lady. She blamed everyone else for any problems, never took responsibility, but then did whatever she wanted expecting no ramifications. I love a strong female lead, but she came off as rude, bitchy, and whiny.

The story was unique and I liked that. She is torn by two worlds, her new family that are magic and the shifter world.

The romance is very weak. No steam, Honestly, barely any attraction. He saves her a couple times, but she is kinda bitchy to him non stop.

DNF

I’m not sure if he’s an alpha-hole or just a jerk. Hard pass on finishing this book.

Addicting listen!

The storyline and narrators really did a wonderful job at capturing my attention till the very end. I really enjoyed the dual POV and both narrators are great!! I felt like both narrators voices were perfect for Savannah and Jaxson. The variety of tones and inflections were great and easy to follow along.
Find out what happens in a magical town, Magic Side where many supernaturals live including one sexy broody alpha and sorcerers. Buckle in for the action and magical ride.

Just started but J. Kafer misses the mark

I've listened to Jeffrey Kafer narrate several books by Jeremy Robinson and he is excellent for those books. However in this book he sounds like an overdone gumshoe private eye. I'm already doubting if he'll be able to pull any sexy scenes off... We'll see

TSTL

I really liked the world building and setup of this story. It had potential. However, the plot is advanced by both characters making TSTL decisions…repeatedly. They really are stupid and unlikable most of the time. Also, there’s a lot of unnecessary information withholding/manipulation happening to the FL for the first half of the book that gets really frustrating and boring. The inner monologues of both leads is so chaotic, almost ADHD-like with feelings and topics pinging back and forth and changing constantly, wish that was edited better. The steam and angst between both leads was there in the beginning but totally unbelievable by the end because their interactions throughout the book had no real development (just the same, “oh I get so weak in the knees around him” vs “grr…me man, must protect my woman..that I’m supposed to hate”). Such a shame.
I would give it more stars if there was actual steam or better hate-to-lovers angst, some witty dialogue, a funny sidekick or even some cool magical pet in the story but there’s not. Just bleh romance and an okay backbone of a plot…
The female narrator was very good. The male narrator seemed very stiff and robotic at times.
