About this listen
Sadie Alden has a man by her side, magic in her blood, and a ringing in her ears. What was that explosion?
As the resident peacekeeper, it’s her job to leave the main island of Hallow Haven and follow trouble wherever it may lead. Once again, it has led her to a dead body. This time it seems like there is much more to the crime than meets the eye.
As the people of the island swarm her head with local myths and legends, Sadie must wade through the information in search of the truth. Someone who was presumed missing has been found in the worst way, a water spirit is threatening to get its revenge, and Sadie’s cat has reached a whole new level of annoying.
Hopefully she can get to the bottom of the mystery in time to enjoy the romantic events on the island with her new beau, but what are the chances of that happening?
Witch in the Water is the third book in the Hallow Haven Witch Mysteries series.

Bunkers, cannons and Murder
I enjoyed this book. It is a fairly short story (at 3 hours 36 minutes) but it certainly packs a lot in and is a series that is a lot of fun. I have been with this series from the start, so I know a lot of the regular characters and the history behind how Sadie became the peace keeper which helps with this book. There are standalone mysteries but with most cozy mysteries lately it does have a mystery that continues throughout the series, in this case Sadie's family and although only slightly touched on in this book can be a bit confusing for first time readers of listeners. The characters are interesting, especially the cat that is part time dentist and part time familiar and they are what makes me want to continue on with the series. The mystery had a lot going on and to be honest I think the questions all get answered but I think it might take a second listening too to follow along.
Sadie as peace keeper for the magical islands once again finds herself crossing the water in the middle of the night. With seashell day fast approaching she expected to be busy as lovers got carried away but she never thought she would be investigating why a cannon was being fired. Two warring islands are at it again, nobody really knows the reason behind why they have each other so much but it is up to Sadie to sort it out. The seashell festivities has already started and someone digs up a bunker to revel a skeleton of a missing man. With two cases on her hands Sadie will have to dodge the minefield of the islands past to find the answers.
I liked the narrator, she has a pleasant voice and is easy to listen to.
