About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
It must be love. A wonderfully romantic novel from the number one Sunday Times best-selling author of Recipe for Love, A French Affair and The Perfect Match.
Althea is the mother of three strong-minded children - one of whom is a Buddhist - and owner of a finicky dog named Bozo.
Saddled with too large a house (albeit in a beautiful Cotswold village), worrisome mortgage payments, a bossy younger sister and irksome ex-husband, Althea still manages to muddle through life comfortably enough. Until she loses her job.
Seeking solace in her borrowed greenhouse, Althea decides to develop her passion for gardening. And when she wins the opportunity to design a garden at the Chelsea Flower Show with the unexpected help of gorgeous architect Patrick Donahugh, it looks as though Althea may have unearthed a new man as well as a new career....

Katie Fforde and Jilly Bond is match made
I love the combination of Katie Fforde’s stories and Jilly Bond’s narration. As always, Katie creates a wonderful page turner.

Classic Katie
Katie Fforde doing what she does best, pure escapism. My only slight flaw is that the character is 39 but you think of her as older because the narrator is older

Detail = just enough
Love the detail the author always puts into her novels. I almost feel that I could go out and dig up a plot myself!

One of my favourite Katie Fforde books
Likable characters in a comfy setting. It's a very easy listen. I could quibble about the kids not really acting their ages but it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment. Jilly Bond isn't great at male voices however.

Reliably optimistic
Another classic Katie Fforde. A sweet tempered, passionate Alethea meets the challenge of a lifetime... Gardens, Chelsea, a trip to France and an unexpected, possible new love, all wrapped up in a messy family dynamic. Everything's to play for and all is fair in love and gardening competitions.

Jilly Bond and Katie Fforde a winning combo
I can listen to Jilly bond talk all day and any story she narrates is brilliant, I like KF but sometimes her females are extremely contrary and it irks, overall though I can recommend.
