Summary

Years ago, Lindon left his home as a powerless Unsouled. Now, he goes to war with the most powerful beings in the world over the future of Cradle itself.

The Weeping Dragon has a grudge to settle, and Lindon intends to take out the Dreadgod with his friends by his side. But rival Monarchs know his plans, and they won’t let things end so easily.

If Lindon does win, he will ascend to the heavens. But he may not find a safe haven there either.

In the worlds above, Suriel and Ozriel face off against the Mad King to determine the new shape of the cosmos. The victor will decide the fate of countless universes.

Whether he wins or dies, Lindon will soon leave this life behind.

The time has come to say good-bye to Cradle.

Wonderful to experience

I wont write spoilers, I will just say that the path has been epic and cradle will be on my listen again list for a very long time to come.
Gratitude to Will for the years of hard work he and his team have put in to cradle.
Thanks to Travis Baldree for putting in another excellent performance with the narration and bringing the characters to life.

excellent end to the series

Sad to see this series end. Great characters and awesome magic systems.

Mercy's sage icon was a particular highlight.

also, excellent narration. Quickly becoming my favourite narrator, also enjoying his book Legends and Lattes!

What a journey

The only thing I dislike about the Cradle series is that it’s over I feel like there is so much to explore and dive into. I truly hope there may be more of it in the future. It has been an amazing story to listen to and had actually made me shed a tear here and there specifically Book 12. With the absolute stellar performance and versatility that Travis provides there is absolutely no reason to not pick up this series and finish it in one go. Amazing.

Will is truly a master of the written arts!

The only negative I have is that the series can't last forever. I genuinely had to keep forcing myself to pause the audiobooks so I wouldn't finish it in one run. The series is amazing and this book does the ending credit!

Perfect, without peer

The only thing wrong with it is that there’s no more, I can say with confidence that this series is one of the best I have ever read

I really, truly...had so much fun.

I can't imagine any series replacing this as my favorite. It got me through times happy and sad. some of the hypest fights I could ever have hoped for. Will, for everything you've given to us, your time and effort, a community of mostly pleasant people to hang around and talk nerdy with, the Yerinisms, and all the fragments of your soul, roughly stapled to the back of every book. Gratitude!

Rushed Ending

Love the series. Disappointed in this book. The ending is rushed, the power growth unearned, in opposition to the whole style of the series, and it's 90% combat.

So much has to happen in this book that there is, paradoxically, not much that happens. In a can't stop to smell the roses sort of way.

This seemed like 4-5 books of content shoehorned into one.

The author wanted done with this, and I get that. But it was the only Cradle I haven't liked. The characters don't have any room to be.

I hope you all have better luck with it.

Thank you for the ride, Cradle.

Best series and ending to a series…EVER

Will, there aren’t words. This whole series has brought me more joy than any books I’ve or series I’ve read. Waybound didn’t disappoint at all. This book is the perfect crescendo. It has the most closure. I was so worried I’d be sad that the series was over, but Will, you finished it so perfectly I was just left with peace and joy. Thank you for this series! Can’t wait to read your other works!

Empty

This book should have been made into 2, if not 3 more. It feels very rushed in a lot of ways and doesn't answer/ tie up loose ends. The character development is also poor for a lot of the group. There are some awesome scenes that build a lot of hype only to trickle out. Overall, it feels lacking compared to the previous installments and is disappointing that this is the end.

Would leave one star but…

It’s been a great ride. But this book was just disappointing. It was 90% combat and felt like Will Wight just wanted to wrap it up and move on. And who knows? Maybe there’s good reasons.

All I can say is I wanted story, character interactions, wonderful world building, punctuated by tense moments of pitched battles. You know… what the cradle series has been delivering.

Instead I got everyone sitting in dimensional spaces power leveling while a massive 10 episode long Dragonball Z fight raged. And after that fight? Another fight. And another. And another.

When the book finally does break free and become interesting again there’s like 3 hours left.

We should have followed the characters to the heavens to watch them help fix the problems that have been looming over the last 12 books. And that world (heavens) and storyline should have been several books long. But instead that stuff was largely handled off screen.

Instead we raced to the end in the least compelling way possible.

Rushed ending!

It’s clear that the author wanted the series over and done with it. That said I loved the journey and don’t regret seeing it to the end.

It's okay but it feels rushed.

The pacing is very different than the Author's previous books in the series. A lot of the major plot points are rushed over and there are a lot of random plot devices shoved in there to make things happen. I get the impression the Author was just looking to wrap up the series and was willing to sacrifice proper story telling to make it happen. The performance was good though.

Thank you Will for the fulfilling ending

I have read all the books and I can't say it's my favorite but the end is well done and a happy the ending for the characters were in a way that still gives them purpose in the book and it made the ending better for me.
