Vampire Mage

Well, it’s certainly a little racer, than the books I normally go for, I just loved the reading style of David. It makes the whole story come alive and the characters seem so real and totally believable. I can’t wait to find out what happens next…!

It’s just set up

This story could have been told in a quarter of the time. It literally ends with further set up from the end of the previous book. I got the impression that this has just become an exercise in milking this for as many pages as possible before progressing the story.

Overall pretty good, but a few things are overdone....

This series is based on a decent story base, but fails to earn more than a three score in review. The characters are solid and develop well as the plot advances. I find the weakness to be in the over done graphic sexual encounters. I am FAR from a Prude, and the story line allows for a good amount of sex, but too many and too graphic get too boring. Furthermore, the overdone British accents make what are supposed to be hot, steamy love scenes sound like the adolescent wet dreams of British Boarding School homosexuals! Entertaining enough, but the overdone, bad British accents and too many, too frequent graphic sex scenes damage, rather than enhance, what, otherwise, could be a really good story and plot.

Sex scenes forced

Nothing wrong with steamy sex but these are at random with no meaning and seem to be the dreams of a horny teenage boy

Loved the narrator. Great book. The sex scenes were a bit redundant, but overall its worth the listen

Good story but damn...

I really like the story but damn can the character at least kill somebody. Where are the main characters weapons. You have a guard but his weapons are crossbow and swords but not a gun. There are to many gaps in the story. A brand new mother doesn’t keep her child with her. Father and mother get killed. As I write this the stars keep going down and down just thinking about it. Nobody is asking the right questions and nobody want to give a honest answer. Another star lost. The narration is great but damn.

wft?! Ended mid-dungeon crawl

That was a very poor decision on behalf of the author, editors, & publisher. The 3rd book just abruptly ended! No cleanup of any of the loose story strings, no completion of current task/side-quest. Yes, I understand that the story is a series of books, but 1 more hour of audio-material to finish up this random side-adventure would have made the 3rd book feel more complete. Instead, it feels like a cheap tactic by publishers, motivated by money. I'm so mad at this de-valuing book ploy that I'm refusing to invest any more money into this series. I might even ask for a refund....

Good book but it didn't finish right

Most books like this, you get Drama, Action, Drama, Action on and on to Climax then Cliff Hanger Hook to get you to buy the next book. This book skipped the Climax, goes straight to the Cliff Hanger (That was a pun for people that read this book.). Sorry the climax is in the next book. I hate unfinished work, I am guessing Josh, couldn't figure out a good ending to the book and just said "Screw it! I wrote enough for one book, I'll figure out the ending in the next book". Whatever. This was probably the last book for me in this series.
