Summary
Jordan O'Neill isn't a fan of labels, considering he has a few. Gay, geek, a librarian, socially awkward, a nervous rambler, an introvert, an outsider. The last thing he needs is one more. But he when he realizes adding the label "asexual" might explain a lot, it turns his world upside down.
Hennessy Lang moved to Surry Hills after splitting with his boyfriend. His being asexual had seen the end of a lot of his romances, but he's determined to stay true to himself. Leaving his North Shore support group behind, he starts his own in Surry Hills, where he meets first-time-attendee Jordan.
A little bewildered and scared, but completely adorable, Hennessy is struck by this guy who's trying to find where he belongs. Maybe Hennessy can convince Jordan that his world hasn't been turned upside down at all, but maybe it's now - for the first time in his life - the right way up.

Funny and touching
As usual NR Walker fails to disappoint. Her characters are well drawn so I soon felt I knew them. I want to travel the bus to work with them every day. They have both suffered in previous relationships but travelling on the same bus route to work opens up new horizons for them and their fellow travellers. Jordan suffers from an inability to avoid using bad language so if that is something you can’t live then this won’t be for you. The two main characters are asexual so again if you like your romance filled with sex then you’ll need to avoid this one but if you like a good chuckle and your heart strings pulled then this definitely should be in your library. Glen Lloyd is the perfect narrator for this. He gives each character their own voice with ease and handles both male and female voices believably. Add this one to your library now.

Sweet, informative and engaging
Very lovely story, great ace representatives, and good narration. Has elements of a textbook on asexuality at times, and the main MC's word vomit was a bit intense at times, but overall, I liked it a lot; the audio book equivalent of a nice hot choc and a snuggly blanket on a cold day at home!

OK if you like a LOT of swear words
I am not a prude. I want to make that clear from the outset. I appreciate that for narrative licence it is necessary to use certain expressions in order to match the character or a situation. I have now reached the point in this book where the word "mother-f**ker" is used so often it is making me cringe. There is ABSOLUTELY no need for this and I am disgusted. I have listened to other books by this author and it wasnt necessary in them - so why now?
Yes, I used swear words but not in almost every sentence.
Going to return the book as it cannot be described as serious writing, simply gratuitous abuse of the ears.

Okish
Personally I didn't like the narrator his voice didn't differentiate between the characters, which led to some confusion as to who was actually saying what. His voice was also a bit boring, with very little intonation.

3.5 stars nice story
This was a nice story, though it read a bit like an educational guide to identifying as asexual at times. Some very sweet moments, but the tale doesn’t grab you as much as it could because the educational times pull you out of the moment. As far as a way to learn about asexuality goes, and what people may face or experience in life and relationships because of their preferences, this book is fantastic and is an engaging way to learn. The narrator is ok, but they don’t have enough variety in voices to let you really sink into the story.

as great as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
