Prue💘Holden! Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book from Harlow Layne’s writing style to the storylines and characters she created. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it to the end. This book is the 3rd book in the “Fairlane” series but my first and I thoroughly enjoyed it as a stand alone. I adored the characters in this book, especially the two leads, Prue and Holden. They were a couple in love who had plans for the future, setting off to college together. But those plans never happened, Holden disappeared with no explanation. Fast Forward four years, Prue just lost her father and Holden shows up to offer his condolences. He wants to explain what why he had to leave but she does not want to hear it, does not think she can get past her broken heart. He does not give up and she hears him out, she also tells him how her life did not go as planned either. I loved how their story played out, how he came up with a solution that wold work for her knowing it would work for him as well. While he did not handle things back then well I liked the choices he made at the time instead of the alternative, he thought he was doing the right thing and sacrificed his own happiness doing so. But he is back to undo the wrong he did and hopefully make things right for and with Prue. I loved that they go a second chance, I also loved that Prue stuck it out for him when he tried pushing her away. This is a wonderfully moving story, it is emotionally charged at times and there is plenty of drama, angst, some twists all leading to a great second chance romance. Harlow Layne, thank you for this great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Lia Holland is a terrific narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She does a great job projecting the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into her performance. Lia Holland is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Good read

Pru and Holden were high school sweethearts until Holden suddenly disappeared. Years have passed and Holden is back home and about to be deployed, but his love for Pru is still the same. Can Pru forgive Holden?  Will they get a second chance at love?

really wanted to like this one

I really wanted to like this book, but I ended up with mixed feelings.
the synopsis of the story is interesting, but the execution of the whole thing is lacking, in my opinion.
things are moving too fast, and I felt like the author wanted to squeeze as much as possible in a relatively short book.
I don't like it when one narrator narrates two POVs, especially when there are two genders.

beautiful story about strength/determination

What a beautiful romance read / listen that will transform you into the world of our main characters Holden and Prue. These characters show us what strength and determination are all about! Childhood sweethearts who were torn apart only to find each other again and face more trials. Will these two find their HEA in a world that seems set on keeping them apart? This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster with heart warming highs and heartbreaking lows - laughter and tears are a given but Holden is such a proud man and I can't help but love him and Prue is fierce, protective of her heart and those she loves - she's awesome! I love how the author includes us in their relationship - you almost feel like one of their best friends and want to be there and help guide them. A beautiful, wonderful romance I could listen to again and again - great narration - just overall fantastic!

Great Read

Unsteady in Love (Fairlane #3) was a good read by Harlow Layne. This book is Prue and Holden's second chance at love. Four years ago Holden broke Prue's heart by leaving and going the military. He's now her doorstep asking for her forgiveness and her hand in marriage. She decides to marry him but isn't sure if she can forgive him, but it may be easier with him around the world. Unfortunately tragedy strikes and he tries pushing her away. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

This was so good I hated for it to end!!

I absolute loved Holden and Prue! This story was extremely emotional and I had to talk back to Holden a few times... to set him straight... but I had a hard time stopping for any reason while I was listening!

This story ripped my heart out at the beginning! But slowly repaired it during the rest of the book. Harlow Layne has such a way of telling these tales that it keeps you wanting more.

Lia Holland did wonderfully with the narration. Her character delineation was good and her voice is very pleasant!!

Second Chance

Oh my goodness, this was so good. I loved the storyline and the characters. Holden made some bad choices before but I loved how he grew from them. Him and Pru were so good together, I couldn’t have pictured them with anyone else. This was an emotional read with some drama and twists.

Lia Holland’s narration was great. She was clear and it was easy to distinguish the characters. I enjoyed her performance

A second and third chance romance

This is truly a stand alone, as this is the first in the series that I have read, and I did not feel like I missed anything, Prue and Holden were high school sweethearts, torn apart. Holden returns to right his wrong and once again, they are separated. Their love must withstand two separations and a tragedy. Harlow Layne truly test their love every chance she gets. This was a heartwarming story about two people who are truly soulmates and will do anything to be with the other. This book is filled with all the feels and will take you on an intense emotional rollercoaster ride. I loved everything about this story and I could not stop listening.

Lia Holland is amazing. I enjoy her narration and this story is just as wonderful. She has an easy to listen to voice and a great narrating speed. Lia easily keeps the characters distinct and easy to follow. Lia brought this story to life through her narration. She was able to bring out the tough struggles and emotions that the characters had to face. I look forward to hearing more from her.

Lost love

This was my first audible book with great thank you to Harlow Layne gift, I'm looking forward to more of the fairlain series, broken hearts mended to find the lost love, your high school love, to get your happily ever after, such a heartfelt story, thank you Harlow, Dana
