Summary

In the freezing night sky over Nazi Germany, Harry Wakefield faces a terrible choice - jump from his crippled RAF bomber without a parachute or burn to death as it crashes to earth.

Harry jumps...and survives the long fall with barely a scratch.

Twenty years later, a powerful earthquake rocks the Berwyn Mountains in North Wales, waking Harry and his family from their sleep. Convinced that a plane has crashed on a nearby peak, Harry races up the mountain, only to discover the wreckage is not an aircraft. It’s something else entirely.

And there’s a living, breathing survivor.

As government forces lock down the mountain, others converge on the area, dark agents of powerful organisations who know the truth about extraterrestrials and their long history of earthly visitations.

As the noose slowly tightens, Harry and his family must choose between betraying their strange visitor or evading the ruthless hunters determined to suppress all public knowledge of a bizarre and frightening phenomenon....

One that Harry has witnessed before in the skies over Nazi Germany.

Well crafted story telling

A brilliant tale in the tradition of Jules Verne, HG Wells and John Wyndham - well written, lucid and gripping.

Thoroughly enjoyable

I get so tired of books and especially films where the aliens are hell bent on destroying humans and humans are portrayed as the “goodies”. ET and Close Encounters were a joy to watch and UFO Down is a thoroughly enjoyable novel, well written and well paced with interesting characters and situations. I hope there are follow up novels in the works. I thought the narrator did a fine job.

Interesting take on the UFO conundrum

A nice well rounded story set in the shadow of the cold war. Science fiction, yes, but could be quite plausible if you are open minded enough. Recommended.

What a lovely surprise

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish.
It kept me interested and I found myself sitting and listening to it on the evenings when i'd normally be watching the TV.

Very well written and the narrator did a wonderful job. One of the reviews about the poor accents was a little harsh, I thought he did a very good job.

I can honestly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent

This is an exceptional book and I hope there are more. There is so much in this I love. I won't say much to give away the plot but I can see this being a long series. So glad Invasion Book 3 is coming but I want the sequel to this as well.

DC is quickly becoming my favourite author.

A great new genre for a great writer

I am excited by the fact that DC Alden has branched our into new territory. Easy for the story to become unrealistic and nonsense but he manages to keep it grounded and contemporary. If you are interested in page turning writing then this would be a great book for you. The author keeps pushing boundaries whilst remaining an excellent storyteller and investor in strong characters.
