Meanwhile in Baghdad, the bank robbery capital of the world, billions of dollars in reconstruction funds has gone missing and Pulitzer prize-winning Journalist Luca Terracini is trying to ‘follow the money’. The dangerous trail will lead him to London where he teams up with Vincent Ruiz and together they investigate the disappearance of an international banker and a mysterious ‘black hole’ in the bank’s account.

Good

I've enjoyed the previous books in this series, despite usually feeling completely drained after listening. The previous books have focussed on Joe O'loughlin, but in this story, it's all centred around Ruiz.

It ticks along nicely. Good few twists and turns along the way. Worth a listen for a bit of a who-dunnit-and-ex-cop-saves-the-day kind of feel.

Not quite as harrowing as the previous listens, but worth a credit.
Narration consistent and good.

interesting story line, a bit different from the other books.

Joe does not play much of a part. did not explain how Joe was saved or where he was?

Certainly not wreckage

Excellent story and spot on narration from Sean Barrett. I really got into the characters and felt their emotions as the plot progressed. Super listen.

Beware strangers they may be bad

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Do read / listen to this book. Like all Robotham books this story has good characterization, some likeable characters and twists, turns and surprises.

Which character – as performed by Sean Barrett – was your favourite?

Ruis the ex DI is a great character and Sean Barrett brings him to life nicely.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book did not have emotional extremes and was not real edge of the seat stuff. I enjoyed it but it is not the best of the Robotham set

A great read!

Where does The Wreckage rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Wreckage is one of better Whodunnits - the plot is a bit far-fetched but it is fast-moving and exciting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ruiz is a well-rounded character. it was good that he had the greater role in this story.

Which character – as performed by Sean Barrett – was your favourite?

Sean Barrett brings life and empathy to all of the characters. I look for books which are read by Sean as a key criteria for my book choice.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No emotional reaction really.

Great!

I really enjoy Michael Robotham's books, and this is no exception. It is excellently narrated by Sean Barrett - amazing how he keeps his characters so consistent. The story centres on Ruiz, the retired met police officer, but Joe O'Loughlin is in there too. It's another exciting plot with plenty of cliffhangers.

Yet again a great book by Michael Robotham

Good story. kept the mind engaged when switching from different locations and characters. Definitely another winner by Michael Robotham. The only criticism I have is the narrator when speaking as Jo. Although his appearance was brief and he had little to say the voice of Jo wasn't at all the same as it is in all the other books in this series with the same narrator so that was a bit off putting for me. A bit petty but it mattered to me. Otherwise a great narrator and very good story.
