Nggets of wisdom within

This is not a book to be read once. I find myself going back to chapters I have read before even before I got to the end. Already seen shifts in my temperament.

Narration gets in the way of enjoyment

Great book but the narration is too fast and rather jarring on the ear. I can’t decide if playing it at 0.75x speed makes it more bearable, or just odd...

One of the most important books I've ever read

This book has changed me in so many ways. Not to say that I listened to it in isolation and everything clicked into place, but it just made me realise everything about how I see myself in relation to others, and that made everything clearer. Highly recommended for anyone who struggles with confidence when with other people.

An absolute bargain

incredible book and research on a emotion/subject close to my heart. This is a second book of Elaine's I have read and love the logic, examples and the repetitive use key word triggers, that quickly come to mind when the recognisable situation occurs.

Elaine's books empower the highly sensitive skill to be proud of, not a disorder as I did read in another book.

Highly Sensitive Person is my new super power!

helped me deal with a lot

honestly I had no idea that I was under valuing myself and ranking with so many people. I gained such a better understanding on my relationships with people and how to improve them.

Life Changing!

I am sooo grateful for this book! It has absolutely changed me and made me more aware of why I act and did the things I used to do. Everyone I recommended this book to thanks me, tells me how their brain has been rewired and how much more sure of themselves they are. Definitely a great read for EVERYONE! I am excited to see where I take myself now that the persecuting and critical voice in my head is virtually non existent!

Amazing material. Narration can be irritating.

This is a great book and unusual. A synthesis of some psychology, evolutionary psychology, behavior and power topics. An application of behavioral theories on jockeying for status / hierarchy combined with our need for social connection and how these things play out in our self-concept and, thus how we live our lives... wish I could find more books like this. The narrator's voice was hard for me to sit with. I kept wanting to tune her out or got so tired of hearing her I shut the book off just to take a break. A little more relaxation in narration would make a big difference. Too rigid for my taste but others may enjoy her voice.

Super clear psychology

Elaine is not just a genious, but also generous by sharing ideas that has the power to make many break free from medications. Since the book uses many high level ideas it took me a while to see Elaine loves to keep things to common sense. Something that today should be called rare sense.

Good book, uncomfortable speed

It doesn't really sink in when it's read out like we are missing a train or something. I don't like it, and I'm struggling to listen it to the end.

A lot of helpful information

This book digs into the different personas inside you and really helps you understand why and how you undervalue yourself. It also provides steps you can take to begin to heal. In order to do the assignments it is helpful to also have a paper copy or the e-book.

Brilliant book!

I can honestly say that this book has transformed my life. I understood a lot about myself, tactics that I had been inadvertently using to sabotage myself.

I think every one should learn about the linking/ranking concept and protector/ persecutor reflex.

Would highly recommend it.

Love this book

I loved every chapter in this book. In fact, I listened to it again right after the first time, just so I could hear the plethora of information offered in each one, and I probably will listen again. It’s a wealth of information & advice on a subject that is very close to me.

Direct and Discernable Information with Depth

This is such a useful book for application. I tend to get lost in the complexity of self-help information. This one had an inclusive foundation that can be applied to everyone, while honoring differences among us. Love this author's work. She's exquisitely reflective in her writing.
