Summary

A woman’s disappearance exposes a life of secrets in a twisting novel of psychological suspense from the author of The Memory Watcher.

Meredith Price is the luckiest woman alive. Her husband, Andrew, is a charming and successful financial broker. She has two lovely stepchildren and is living in affluence in a mountain resort town. After three years of marriage, Meredith’s life has become predictable. Until the day she disappears.

Her car has been discovered in a grocery store parking lot - purse and phone undisturbed on the passenger seat, keys in the ignition, no sign of struggle, and no evidence of foul play. It’s as if she vanished into thin air.

It’s not like Meredith to simply abandon her loved ones. And no one in this town would have reason to harm her. When her desperate sister, Greer, arrives, she must face a disturbing question: What if no one really knows Meredith at all? For Greer, finding her sister isn’t going to be easy…because where she’s looking is going to get very, very dark.

Hold your breath!

That's what I was doing for most of this book. My emotions were in turmoil wondering how it would end!

Good

Enjoyable but not as good as “When I was you”, but well worth a listen.

Drivel

What a waste of money and time. Utterly puerile storyline. It makes me shudder to think that this book has even been published. Oh dear.

Very Enjoyable

I didn't work out who it was until that moment by her car. A rather brilliant listen from start to finish.

"The Thinnest Air" = Heavy Suspense!

There are so many titles on Audible that allegedly claim to be worthy of being the next "Gone Girl." Almost always, these comparisons usually have no merit..

This book, however, was the exception to the rule. The book was very well-written, fast-paced and had superb character development. The book had many well-crafted twists and was impossible to put down. Even though this book was never flagged as being the next "Gone Girl", it was definitely in the same league as "Gone Girl"..

I always like it when a title has multiple narrators and this book's two narrators did a great job. The only time that I was disappointed was when the book ended.

This was my first Minka Kent book and it will not be my last.

Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

Not worth the money

This was an ok book. But it lacked suspense, twists, turns, and excitement. It was a pretty boring book. If you are using money, I wouldn't pay for it and if it's a credit, you can get it back if you do not like the book lol. It just wasn't what I thought.

Not her best.

I've really enjoyed Minkas other 2 books. This one is good but the characters are so so damn unlikable and the ending felt really rushed with too many questions. There's no doubt this writer is someone I'll still wait for her new releases and read quickly. I just feel this is not as great as the other 2. Still recommended.

Good Story, Bad Ending

This book had so much potential and it was wasted on a predictable ending. The performances are good. It's like the author had this great idea, but then didn't know how to bring it to an end, so she just went with the easiest option. The rest of the story was enjoyable, up until about an hour 20 left of the recording.

Solid Kidnapping Mystery

This was an attention-grabbing mystery about a woman who disappears. It had my full attention and kept me guessing, though I don't think in a matter of a week that I'll be able to remember what happened in this one. That's why I left in with 4 stars.

It was a good read and entertaining, but I'm not sure how much of an impression it really made on me. I think it was trying so hard to keep me guessing that it failed to give most of the characters the level of depth they needed.

However, that being said, if you like a good mystery about a missing woman, this is that. The narration is good, which definitely helped hold my attention.

Really Tried to be another "Gone Girl" and Failed

I liked her other books but this one showed a real lack of creativity. The characters were cliché, and the plot is nothing new. I love mystery thrillers, but this was more like a soap opera. I didn't really like any of the characters and the story really made no sense. Overall, not her best and quite forgettable.

Just ok

The characters were boring. The story was not suspenseful nor interesting. It was background noise. I thought the narration was well done. Brittany has a lovely reading voice. I would not recommend

why so many 5 star reviews?

this book is slow, the narration not great, she makes the characters sound less palatable than they might be if read, and honestly, why so many rave reviews? it's so BLAND.

Captivating Story

Very well written to keep you hooked and wondering what was going to happen the whole time. I also enjoyed the two different readers they had, so it really felt like it was the two women from the story talking.

Lessons Learned

This book teaches valuable lessons. Is it greener on the other side? Is exciting always better? Can giving in to our desires fulfill our wildest dreams or get us into serious trouble? All these questions and more are answered. One character does an excellent job of helping us suspect the other but who did it really? Read and find out.
