About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

When the love of her life shows up with a girlfriend, Tia decides it's time to put herself out there.

Expectations of dating apps are low, so it's a surprise when she instantly connects with handsome photographer Nate. He's everything she's looking for; he makes her feel safe, seen, and desired.

Tia assumes they're on the same page - the only catch? They're yet to have The Talk.

In a generation that's normalised competing over who cares the least, can Tia overcome her fears and lay her cards on the table, in the pursuit of something real?

A typical black londoner Story

It made me happy to hear a story I can relate too as Black Londoner and ashamed how terrible dating is in London as black person.. filled with confusion behaviour from both parties.. annoyingly refreshing to listen too ❤️

Big People Tings

This took a while to warm up or wear into the story. Wasn't expecting the tale to wrap itself around romance, psychological safety at work and identity. Familiar UK themes but from a millennial's perspective. Well done.

Background book

it's was just fine, the type of book you listen to when cleaning. Your typical 'london romance' sort of novel with Nigerian characters.

Absolutely Loved It

I really enjoyed listening to this book, the ups and downs of modern day relationships. All based round the constant discussions, on beautiful black Afro hair I thoroughly enjoyed it.

How relatable it was

Love every second of it. Every chapter drew me in even more. This has made me want to read more books and I’m very excited

The characters

Quite predictable but it was still an enjoyable book to listen too. I didn't like the ending does that mean there will be a part 2 ?
