I enjoyed the narration of Jess Trepanier

This is fast paced, Deputy Lux Bern surviving a terrible event, goes about work keeping her head down. A few years ago, she was in a school shoot out, a girl got shot. When Carissa is Lux's friend goes missing. Lux is looking for her. The book is a good read. It has it all. Murder, kidnapping, underage sex, and more.

Enjoyable

I do like this combination of author and narrator and it was nice to go away from the apocalyptic genre with them for a bit. I am not sure about some of the plot points and police procedural but it worked really well as a pleasant listen and I got engrossed with the story and wanting to know what happened. Not sure about the title and the reference.
