confused by the title

ummmmm the story is about a "boy" that goes missing but the title leads you to believe it's a "girl"? Normally I don't say anything about the title because it usually don't have an impact on the story but in this case I kept expecting a twist or a "girl" to go missing but that didn't happen. It's just confusing but a good quick missing kid story...
And I have to point out that in the second one there are girls, there is snow and 2 go missing, so it should be plural not singular if it refers to the second book?
either way, the title doesn't make sense, the characters don't make sense and I got bored and honestly I was glad the main character was fired from the FBI because I wouldn't want her as a mother or as an agent!
and lastly, I do appreciate that the author did some research on type 1 diabetes but don't be a bad parent and feed the kid cereal and a donut and then say he can't have sugar. Girl that is all that you do feed him.

Great stories but confusing title

I do love this series and characters it was really good to get back to the beginning as I started at the end of the series.

I get that the author titles the series in a group but the first one really confused me.

the narration really worked, it is emotional where needed and you can differentiate the characters.

A good book to get buried into

This box set contains the first two books in the Carolina Caccia series. Both of which I really enjoyed. The only thing that annoyed was the name of the box set which is a little bit confusing, especially as the first case didn't feature a missing girl. However two great stories that It tug at your heartstrings. In fact everything that went on had you riding a roller coaster of emotions with what happened on the cases. A great and entertaining story but a scary thought that it could happen
THE GIRL IN THE SNOW.
This book focus on the main character and how she coped or didn't cope with her son disappearance, a very character driven mystery. There was no twists and it was pretty obvious who the kidnapper was, I just didn't know why.
For ex FBI agent Carolina the last thing she wants to do is to on holiday with her ex husband and his new wife but she will do anything for her kids. When a birthday surprise goes wrong and her son storms out of the restaurant the last thing on Carolina's mind is him going missing. Is he lost or was he taken? With no clues it's a race against the clock to find him before he needs his next insulin shot.
THE GIRL WITH THE GIFT
It is certainly not your average missing child case. Like the first book the story focused a lot on the home life of the main character but as I both liked the children and they played a big roll in solving the case, this worked out great and you really get to know the characters. The story was unusual because it featured one of the characters with Dissociative Identity Disorder (what use to be called a split personality) which was both fascinating as it gave you a better understanding of the condition and scary that something like that happens so often that it has got a name..
With money tight ex FBI agents turned private investigator Carolina Caccia and her partner need to find out if a husband is cheating on his wife but Carolina finds herself torn between another case. Somebody leaves a note claiming a child has been kidnapped. Carolina tracks down the parents only to discover the child safe at home but something isn't right and she looks into to it more. Only to discover the same child had gone missing before, with the parents unwilling or able to talk to her she keeps digging. Can she discover who someone thought she was missing? And why did she going missing the first time? At the same time her daughter is acting up and getting into fights can Carolina keep her on the straight and narrow? Or will her new friend lead her into trouble?
I liked the narrator. She used different voices to differentiate between the characters.
