Summary

Strength comes not in victories. It comes from standing up after defeats, in reaching out a hand and pulling others to their feet. Of pushing others ahead of one’s self.

Alvans must dig deep. They have paid a heavy price, a price felt in the hearts of every member.

They started as a small group fighting to just survive in the first realm to a nation that challenged the combined United Sect Alliance.

Instead of crumbling, they bared their teeth, they fought forces from the seventh realm. They bled their enemy every step of the way.

Beaten but unbroken. Each member of Alva has been tempered with elements, has cultivated their mana. Now their minds, their spirits have been tempered and tested, and they must cultivate their belief in one another.

For there is no option for them. There is no other path ahead of them.

Erik and Rugrat have groomed a nation from that small group. As they created that spark, it has now grown into something they realize they shouldn’t control.

Strength is knowing what one can and can’t do. It's about putting one's beliefs on the line and making that line in the dirt. Though beaten and broken, standing together and raising up others and saying through bloodied teeth: "This we’ll defend, this we’ll give our lives for." For even if they are to die, their deaths will protect the others behind them. They will use their bodies to push others behind them forward, even if only a centimeter.

Today Alva might be broken, but tomorrow they will stand, stronger than before, to prove those that made the ultimate sacrifice, that given that extra centimeter they will claw their way forward a meter.

Use to be My Fav series

First off I love this series, still do but the honey moon stage is over and now it feels like it is all over the place. This book and the last should be the 4.5 and 4.6 in the series. There is so much to these realms that MC introduced us too with Rugrat and Eric in the first 5 realms, then it turned into 20 different people perspective and was no longer about Rugrat and Eric, they even admit they are no longer needed Yay??? Maybe the story can go back to them. Even this book just touches on the 7th realm and stays in the lower realms. I have a hard time when a level 80 something Eric and Rugrat fight against level 50 and 60s and there aura's do not crush them to there knees and they cause massive damage to them with a 30% reduction to there stats since there in the dungeons influence???? But in Earlier chapters the bad guys do that to Mercy and she is on her knees instantly ??? Believability not so much.
Narration sigh, I think Neil is an amazing Narrator but i had to rewind countless times to tell who the story shifted to cause they sounded the same. The story felt rushed in Narration like he was speed reading at times. I miss Todd.
Over All the story moves along but the progression of Rugrat and Eric stagnates yet there levels go up.I hope the Author slows down and puts forth the effort like he did in the first 5 books, those are absolutely amazing world building books!! I am committed to this series but it seems like it is starting to flounder for me.

I can't get enough

This series is satisfying. The character development, growth and interactions are exceptional. Chatfield gets family and brotherhood at a molecular level. When the character have fun at each other's expensive I believe it. When someone loses a friend I feel it.
All I know is as long as Chatfield keeps producing work at this level of quality I will keep coming back for more.
No harems. No ultra dimwitted protagonists. No racism. Strong men and women. No culture war crap.
This is why I keep my audible subscription.

Narrator is ruining the series for me

Re-releasing the entire series & having Neil narrate them is a poor choice. He is a subpar narrator compared to the original narrator.

To any new readers; don’t bother with this series. The GOOD narrator (who can create different voices for each character) has been replaced with a CHEAPER narrator (who combines all characters together, then separates them with 1 of 3 voice types).

Neil is not a good narrator and shouldn’t ever narrate a series with so many characters. Neil is a 1-3 character narrator only.

I admit I was wrong

Neil has done a very good job I was originally very upset about the change in the voice actor but he has done well I agree with him the fact that he should probably redo 6 Realm part 1 but I own all of the audio books from two-week curse up to 7th Realm part 2 and I'm anxiously waiting for 8

I guess

I see what other people are talking about, the narrator is frankly pretty bad. Could barely tell the difference between the different characters, and everything is just so bland no matter what is being talked about. The story was OK but I don’t know, it just isn’t as fun as it used to be
