Summary
Sparks ignite and tempers flare when a sexy, optimistic wedding planner moves his business in across the hall from a jilted divorce lawyer's practice.
From high school up until he became a successful attorney, Jacob Snowden was convinced that love had it out for him. "Everyone left" were the words he lived by. His mother, his high school sweetheart, his father, and his fiancé - they all left Jacob just when he felt it was safe to let down his guard.
Not any longer.
Jacob was a determined man, set at keeping people at a distance. If his six-foot-one, military-made body didn't scare people off, his permanent scowl surely did. At almost 40, Jacob's social life was nonexistent, but he told himself his work fulfilled him. He helped people get out of their loveless marriages.
Jacob Snowden was one of the best divorce lawyers on the East Coast and was damn proud of it. So, imagine his disdain when a wedding planner moves into the suite directly adjacent to his...an insanely masculine, male wedding planner.

❤️ You Will Believe in Love Again!
📚 The author’s Nothing Special Series was not to my taste: even though it was in the Plus Catalogue, I gave up on the first installment at the 50% mark and subsequent installments at the 5% mark. I found it preposterous viz. violent, macho types who were badass because they had big dicks and wielded guns, rushed resolutions, plot holes, OTT action and porn. I go into detail about NSS because TSIMS is a complete contrast in content and writing style and charmed me!! It is a character driven piece about Wylde and Jacob who are grown and leading imperfect lives in a hard knock world. Ms. Via took the time to show their chemistry and what they yearn so much from the other so that their HEA felt earned. I adored the spice (slow, sensual and just the right amount); the plot (tightly focused on Jacob’s redemption) and excellent execution of the hurt | comfort trope!
🎧 I enjoyed Thor Tom’s portrayal of Jacob – he effectively conveyed his outer, aggressive, macho guff compared to his inner, wounded soul that appealed to Wylde. TT also did great with a fairly large cast of characters who, despite having similar accents, cadences and audible breathwork, were clearly differentiated in conversations. The narrator had an appealing bass (yay) but it was a tad tiresome that most male characters tended to the growly, gravelly, butch, deep register. Minor gripes aside, Mr. Thom’s performance held my attention and that is what matters most to me.

Boxers in the Hallway
New narrator for this series did well and made the MCs comes to life with humour and perfect dramatic tone.
Enjoyable tale, in this author's usual impeccable style. Thank you Audible for the freebee.

Absouluty Brilliant new to A E Via loved this story and it won't be the last of this author. Tor Thom was a brilliant narror one of my favourites truly believe that the narror is able to sell the story to me and he certainly did.

what a voice!
fantastic story of love and healing beautifully written and narrated perfectly.
I loved both characters and was thoroughly invested, it was also nice to read a book that wasn't sport mm related and that didn't have to have some trauma between them before they realised their love for each each, I like low angst
