Summary
Three complete novels in the Sam Reilly thriller series!
The Hunt for Excalibur
On March 11, 2011, the Japanese fishing trawler, Hoshi Maru accidentally hauled up something deadly into its live-fish hold. The crew, having discovered their mistake, raced toward the harbor in the hope that they might survive.
They never made it.
Presumed sunk by the tsunami that ravaged the coastline of Japan, its crew were declared dead.
Seven years later, the shipwreck washed up on Cannon Beach, Oregon. By the time the US department of fish and wildlife arrived to investigate, people in the nearby towns had started to die in terrifying and inexplicable ways.
Sam Reilly will need to discover what really happened on board the Hoshi Maru - and why all clues point to the Legend of King Arthur....
Ghost Ship
In the dead of night, a decrepit, unmarked motor yacht drifts into the medieval port of Vernazza, Italy.
The run-down vessel forms a jarring contrast to the pastel colored tower homes and terraced vineyards surrounding the natural harbor along the coast of Cinque Terre.
Less than 50 yards away, a man wakes up on board a small rowboat, covered in blood.
Lying next to him is a woman with two - execution style - bullet holes to her forehead.
In his right hand he holds a small suitcase. Tucked into his pocket is a Russian built Makarov semiautomatic handgun - with two rounds missing.
The man asks himself one question: Who am I?
The Tomb of El Dorado
A city cloaked in a legend too fanciful to be true.
An ancient tribe, who has vowed to protect their gods until the end of time.
A shipwreck scattered with gold, and drawings of a mythical beast.
Sam Reilly is on the hunt to find an ancient tomb, before El Dorado is lost forever....

Amazing, amazing, amazing!
Sam Reilley is a wealthy marine biologist that, with his friend and co-worker Tom, goes on hunts for various mythological items. He goes on several adventures, with each story detailing one or more treasures to be found. Finding the treasures often involve dangerous trials, including battling with the “bad guys”, and saving the world from destruction.
Volume 6 of the Sam Reilley Collection contains the following stories:
The Hunt for Excalibur (Sam Reilly Book 16)
The army developed the deadliest weapon known to man. Although the weapon is presumed dead, people start brutally being killed by a secret monster only few know the secret to. Sam must uncover the truth of the legend of King Arthur to destroy the weapon before it takes over the world. I absolutely love Christopher’s stories and this one is no exception! This must be one of my favourites!
Ghost Ship (Sam Reilly Book 17)
Sam wakes up on a ship in Italy with a gun, suitcase and dead body next to him. On top of that, he has no memory of who he is nor how he got there. Can he figure out the secret that caused someone wiped his memory and frame him? Very interesting form of plot development, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Tomb of El Dorado (Sam Reilly Book 18)
Sam hunts for the ancient tomb of El Dorado, holding secrets of a legend, treasure and mythical beasts. This story just made me want more and more, give me more!
The stories are packed with descriptive scenes, life threatening situations, fast paced action and archaeological treasure hunting. They are cleverly unraveled to keep the listener excited and intrigued throughout, not to mention to hear the next stories in the series. The genre reminds me of Indiana Jones, James Bond and the like. Not only are they filled with action and adventure, I feel that I was also educated by them. There are so many fascinating facts coming through about various mythological things, some of which I had heard of and learned more about, and some that I hadn’t heard of before and learned all about in the books. The stories are well written with cleverly built up plots and characters, including twists and turns throughout. They follow a series with ongoing relationships and themes, but with a new adventure each time. Sometimes other stories are mentioned in other books that elude to future upcoming adventures, or previously completed adventures. The series is absolutely addictive and interesting and I cannot wait to hear the next ones!
David narrated expertly. With excellent intonation for various characters and energy and passion throughout the series. He was a perfect fit for what I believe the stories’ perspectives to sound like. There were also some interesting audio elements coming through like hearing two people speak at the same time and hearing people speak through voice scramblers. Overall, the performance was masterful and absolutely added to my enjoyment thereof.
I highly recommend this series. Be warned though, once you start you may not be able to stop!

Good stories!
I enjoy the stories, but the author has zero knowledge of firearms and it was almost distracting to the stories. Crosshairs on a shotgun? Magazines in a service revolver? The hammer dropping on an empty chamber with a semi automatic?

Too far-fetch with annoying narration
I struggled to finish the three books mainly because I had agreed to review them in exchange for the books. All three had potentially fascinating premises. The books were well written. However Z the action was intense and detailed to the extreme, making it unbelievable. All three were overly ambitious stories and became too farfetched to keep me involved. It did not help that the narrator sounded normal in describing places and action, but when he spoke for anyone other than Sam, he sounded overly dramatic and cartoonish.
