About this listen
He dedicated most of his life to the Joint Intelligence Agency. Now, James Ryker wants to start afresh. However, he soon hears about the murder of a woman whose fingerprints match those of a former adversary who's been missing, presumed dead...an assassin known as the Red Cobra. Lots of action
Lots of action and well narrated.
I don't think the author knows that fingerprints are not familial though.
I liked the twists at the end.

Fast paced, easy to listen to.
Easy listing, good story, is it a classic, no.
More than enough twists and turns to keep me interested.
I enjoy this author, there are shortcomings but it’s fiction after all!

Snake Bite!
I guess some of us can never have too many rugged, super-skilled ex military / secret agent tough guys in our lives. I tend to devour the Reachers and Pullers of this world and it seems I've found another one in James Ryker. He's a man who is drawn back to his shadowy and violent past when an unresolved situation from his past rises up again. The book is very fast-paced and cleverly structured such that both Ryker and the Red Cobra are unveiled as characters with their separate stories.
There were some things that just struck me as a bit unrealistic but the key ones ended up being explained well including how the Red Cobra gained such deadly and stealthy skills. In truth this is very much a sit back, don't think too much, grab some popcorn and relax book. However, it is very enjoyable and I really did like how the author pulled all the strings together at the end. This appears to be Marston York's debut on Audible UK and he does a fine job, I would happily listen to him again.
All in all this was enjoyable and the time I spent listening to it passed by very quickly. If you're looking for a thriller with a lot of depth or one that doesn't rely on the characters showing a bit of inconsistency then it might not suit you. However, it is an entertaining and violent thriller with some neat twists and plenty of action. Good enough for me to follow the series going forwards.

Been looking for a new John Milton
After finishing the John Milton series, I found this and I’m so glad I did.
This had a well thought out plot, the twist was great, and the end was good enough that I want to hear the next book.

enjoyed the book
a bit graphic on occasions with violence so flipped forward to avoid listening to the worst bits.

Entertaining Ride until .......
Pointless twist, sinply confirmed what you know all along, that they story doesn't have any depth or substance. Shame really.

I chose this because I do like Marston York's voice. I haven't listened to Rob Sinclair before and I was delighted with this audio book. Full of action and suspense. I will definitely be buying some more.

Good start to the follow up series.
Good start to the second series. Using a different narator helps separate the these series of books from a Andy McNab's Nick Stone.
