Summary

Modern-day Atlanta. Driven by his tragic past, prosecutor Chance Meridian seeks justice for a beautiful woman brutally murdered in her own home.

Except nothing comes easy in Atlanta, and certainly not justice. A lot of people in town wanted Sara Barton dead, and every single one of them is lying about something. Chance shouldn't be surprised. Murder is an ugly business. But so is love.

Masterful, fast-paced, and full of intrigue, The Murder of Sara Barton is an intense courtroom drama brimming with suspense.

different and interesting

So well read and well written. This has all the elements of a good murder mystery with a court room drama coupled with a depth and thoughtfulness that surprised me, particularly the last chapter. I was waiting for the twist as it seemed so likely from early on, however the real twist is the final epilogue. Highly recommend and will listen to more from this author and this reader.

brilliant, I really enjoyed this book.

As usual Christopher lane does an amazing job narrating , The story was brilliant, the characters believable, I did think at the start that it was abit slow, but it was really worth it, 5 stars all round from me.

I thought I knew how it’d end but I was so wrong!

Really enjoyable! Clever storyline and unexpected twist that I had no idea was coming! I occasionally thought there were too many metaphors and I wished it’d hurry past them, but overall, brilliant. Narration was great apart from the main character is called Sara (as in it rhymes with the Twin sister, Lara) and NOT SARAH!! Every time the narrator said Sarah, I almost shouted, “it’s Sara FGS!” Lol. Would def recommend!

Clever courtroom drama!

I wanted to know more from the first! The narrator was perfect for the main character - great voice. I was with him all the way as his life unravelled and willed him to keep going. Good twists and the one at the end shocked me so much I gasped out loud. Now I’m off to see if there’s anymore from these two…

Slow burning but intense and brilliant

One of the best freebies I’ve ever had from Audible. Than you. I wasn’t sure at first because of the narration, but another reviewer said it was worth sticking with — and I’m so glad I did. Chance Meridian is complex and flawed, and surrounded by a great cast of realist characters, good friendships and also compelling opponents. I’m downloading the next Lance McMillian book right now. Delighted to have been introduced to this author!
