Story
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn't have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she's nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won't include the king of one-night stands.

Nate Monson was gorgeous, obnoxiously wealthy, and a player. He was also the person who could destroy my world with a single decision. I walked into that bar looking for him. He saw me. I saw him. The chemistry sizzled between us, but no. I hated Nate Monson. I hated him with everything in me, even though my body did not. It didn't matter. Nothing I wanted mattered. He thought I wanted to get laid. What I wanted was for him to disappear. But first, I had to tell him that he had a daughter.

Story
In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a crush on me. And that I just moved in with them. Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

If someone were to ask Jasmine Santos to describe the last few years of her life with a single word, it would definitely be a four-letter one. After 17 years - and countless broken bones and broken promises - she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close. Summary
He's a player in more ways than one.... College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he'll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he's worth a second chance. Now he's going to need to up his game....
After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She's not a charity case, and she's not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He'll have to work for it. This time around, she'll be the one in the driver's seat, and she plans on driving him wild.

The mistake
Again this story could have used a male narrator & hence the score. The story is really sweet but not enough to give you tooth ache. It is a really good story let down by the narrator. You cannot have really manly men portrayed by a woman trying to do the 'voice'

Over hyped in my opinion
i am an 18 year old girl who has always loved reading and in attempt to get back into the habit i decided to give the off campus/briar u series a go. this is because of how much its raved about so i went in with high expectations. The deal was a cute book, nothing special it gave me flashbacks to a few typical wattpad book i would read at 2 am when i was 14. it definitelt didnt fulfil my expectations as i guess i expected more but i know this is simply my preference and understand why other may love it. However the mistake feels like its almost leeching off of the previous book and its characters. there wasnt much character development and so i didnt feel much connection to either of the characters, specifically grace.

Great story
Really enjoyed logans story, he was definitely a great character and definitely made to jump through hoops to get with a girl he liked. Grace was definitely lucky to find him and keep him, what a standard he has set for all men! Haha The narrators were good and brought the characters alive for me although sometimes the girls voices were annoying but I think that was definitely their characters. Overall great book.

Loved the story but...
UPDATED FOR THE ADDITION OF MALE NARRATOR
I was VERY excited to see that The Mistake was being updated to include a male narrator and Lee Samuels is great as Logan... but I can't really change my rating of this audiobook because having the male narrator just amplifies how unsuitable the female narrator is. I would have gladly paid to purchase this audiobook again if Audible Studios had re-recorded the female POV as well. Come on Audible Studios!!! Just do it!!
The Mistake and The Deal are two of my favourite books released this year. I could re-read them over and over. I was so excited to have them available as audiobooks
But as with The Deal, the first book in the Off Campus series, Audible Studios chose a terrible narrator. Lorelei Avalon's whiny, nasal voice was completely inappropriate for the characters and it threw a damper on all the witty banter I was waiting to hear between the main characters of Logan and Grace
Audible Studios you owe Elle Kennedy a pretty big apology for this and whoever cast the narrator for the Mistake and The Deal should perhaps think about actually reading the book they are casting for
PLEASE DO NOT USE LORELEI AVALON FOR THE SCORE!!!!

I literally stopped the audible and just read all of the parts in Grace’s POV. I could not stand the female narrator. Grace is supposed to be a sophomore in college but the female narrator definitely did not sound the part and I just couldn’t get behind it. The male narration was great though!

Unfortunately, the narrator ruins a weak book
I failed to heed reviewer references to a "not the right one" narrator on these novels. I figured "Hey, how bad can it be, since I like sports romances ... a lot."
Well it turns out that it can be very bad. The character voices are Very similar, to the point of creating a puzzle regarding who said what. Then we have the manly athletes throwing lots of fowl language around while sounding like asthmatic young girls ... or the occasional asthmatic little old lady when they are expressing strong feelings.
A great narrator probably could have salvaged the prose portraying a whining protagonist's endless introspection about lusting after his room-mate's girlfriend and other topics. But it was pretty tedious, even though I usually can summon a high tolerance for sub mid-list prose.
This book is possibly better as a print book; then you can just skim through the repetitive introspection (aka filler?). At least this would omit the distraction of a bad narrator. But I think most people will regret spending anything on this audiobook.
I'll be curious to see if Audible will leave this review up after I return this mistake.

Second Elle Kennedy book, I've listened to and it was even better than the first!
Grace and Logan have amazing chemistry and I loved their journey. A little bit of build up, but again I loved the pace that Ms. Kennedy keeps with her stories. I don't mind a little drama for a little back and forth, but when stories are held up because of "big" secrets, it drives me crazy. Everything is revealed at a nice pace in this book. And I'm still loving the secondary characters and looking forward to more stories in this series.
So glad that this same narrator has continued for this series. She is really great.

I love this series of books. The male narrater was perfect, the female... not so much. She has a very mousey nasely voice. It made Grace sound stuck up almost or valley girl, which she was the complete opposite of. overall great listen!
