Summary
If you want to discover the captivating history of the Mexican Revolution, then keep reading...
The Mexican Revolution was a defining moment of the 20th century. The Mexican fight for democracy, equality, and justice sent shockwaves around the world. No other episode in its history has left a deeper mark. It is a three-act drama full of politics, persecution, and war, not to mention earthquakes, signs in the sky, and even spiritualist sessions, while being populated by larger-than-life villains, international spies, and the universally known figures of Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata. In fact, our modern idea of “revolution” owes much to what happened in this country between 1910 and 1920.
In The Mexican Revolution: A Captivating Guide to the Mexican Civil War and How Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata Impacted Mexico, you will discover topics such as:
- The Comet
- The strong man of the Americas
- Francisco and the spirits
- Victory comes too soon
- The Wicked Ambassador
- Victoriano Huerta
- Two Hurricanes
- The Convention of Aguascalientes
- The Presidential Chair
- Huerta Strikes Back
- The Horsemen of the Apocalypse
- The Centaur and the General: Pershing’s Punitive Expedition
- The Zimmermann Telegram
- Aftermath
- And much, much more...

Straightforward and Informative
Thoroughly enjoyed the book for its well-presented content and insight into the politics of our neighbors to the south. The legend of Pancho Villa was (is) ever present growing up in Deep South Texas. He’s thought of as a really bad guy who did some really good things…. Quite a legacy.
My only criticism of the performance is the readers mispronunciation of several Spanish words and names. One example is the pronunciation of “cuidad” as kwee-dad when it should be swee-dad. A minor issue but imagine the word “city” being pronounced as “kitty”. That would be equally annoying.
I hope to listen to more books on the history of the southwest and the struggles between the US and Mexico.

Don’t have readers who speak Spanish - It’s the LAW!
This is not the first Mexican history that I have read for which the reader butchers some or all place names. In this case the reader was pretty good, but a review of Spanish pronunciations would have been the one of the first orders of buns ones if you are going to read a book about the history of Mexico.

Pronunciation
I understand if you have an accent saying words in another language but this guy mispronounced so badly that words/names were completely unrecognizable. I’m bilingual and know some of these names and had to rewind it a couple times. The story made up for it. It was clear and concise

Summary of Mexican Revolution
I knew nothing about the Mexican revolution before this short history. The audible was easy to listen to and provided sufficient detail. The brief introduction to Mexico's revolutionary history has inspired me to dive deeper into understanding Mexico's long history.

Very good
I think this audiobook does excellent job of giving a brief history of The Mexican Revolution with a lot of detail. The Mexican Revolution is a very complex and complex story to understand fully. This audiobook excellent.

Great
As a descendant of Mexican fighters of 1914 this book corroborates stories from relatives whom participated in the struggle.

This definitely filled the gaps for me
I was going through another book of the entire history of Mexico. The topic of the revolution could not be covered in such great detail. I'm sure this title left out quite a bit it it filled in many gaps. I'll try a more exhaustive book later.
The reader could've made a little effort in pronouncing the names. It was massacre lol.

Interesting but very short
Doesn't sound like much is changed in Mexico in the last hundred years. Instead of revolutionaries, it's a drug cartel killing people off. And we still have thousands pouring across the border.
