Great story line, enjoyed the way it was written. Unfortunately the narration ruined it completely for me, the tone felt completely off and the character voices were irritating especially "Dom", no body speaks like that.
Would have given 5 stars if it had a better narrator.

Interesting story. Gripping in places. But the narrator! Such odd intonation and inflection. Glee and twee and no gravitas at all. Really spoiled the listen.

I really enjoyed this book. Even though there were for me no twists nor turns that I didn't see coming. I don't really think it was written for twists to be honest. Saying that the story is very good and it pulls you straight in. So I finished it fairly quickly. Definitely worth a read and 4 * from me 📚 only thing I found that let it down was the narrator she didn't make it sound like it was a psychological thriller. Which really was a shame. She did some great accents though

Definitely one to add to your must read ion 2020 list, great story line that grabs your imagination from page 1 and keeps you guessing until the end.

As a story it was all right, if a bit straightforward but the narrator is like something off radio four in the last century and the tones and inflections she uses are just peculiar. I found myself being jolted out of the story all the way through.

James’ narrative twists differ from the thriller novels of her peers, definitely worth a listen. The ‘twist in the tale’ is, in my opinion, slightly obvious; however James’ writing is compelling and engaging.

At times, I found the performance, especially in areas of dialogue, didn’t match up with the atmosphere of the text, however on the whole I enjoyed the narrators take.
