Summary
Ella's mum is in a deep coma, having just had a new baby. That means Ella has to live with Jack, her hopeless stepfather, and cope with her tiny newborn brother, as well as worrying about Mum.
The only thing that's going right is her school project. It's all about whales and how they sing out to each other to attract a mate - sometimes for hours. Maybe a whale song could reach Mum, wherever she is, and bring her back to Ella and baby Samson. Surely it's worth a try?
Critic reviews
"This story will delight ... As always, the characters are beautifully portrayed and you are really drawn into their lives, especially that of Ella" (Parents In Touch)
"With its honest characters and dialogue, its unique coverage of the trauma Ella and her family experience, and its ability to unite readers with Ella's coping process is a tender, moving story in the classic Wilson mould." ( Inis)

The Longest Whale Song
This story really shows how people express their feelings when something awful happens to a family member.
I really recommend this audiobook to all Jacqueline Wilson fans and if you've never read her books then give this one a try. :-)

The longest whale song
It was a good book, but I don’t think this really impressed me as much as the other Jacqueline Wilson books. But the ending is very sweet.

Really enjoyed
Hi
I really like this book to some people this may seem a childish book but you forget that as soon as you hear the first word my only one complaint is that if you don’t like cliffhangers then you might not like it I will admit that (spoiler) that when I read the end and it turns out to be a cliffhanger (told you spoiler) that I threw the book onto the bed but when I listened to this on audiobook I listened to it every night after I am actually listening to it while I am writing this now I will say that the narrator did an amazing job
(Sorry I haven’t used full stops i just can’t really be bothered to🙃
Thx for reading

𝔸𝕞𝕒𝕫𝕚𝕟𝕘! :) ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩
This is one of the saddest yet most brilliant books I've ever read/listend! it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I could somewhat relate to Ella٫ and I know someone just like Martha! they however did not rip apart one of my projects! Thank you Jaqueline Wilson٫ you never fail to come out as my favorite author :)

The longest whale song review
The longest whale song is about a girl called Ella who has a lovely mum and a stepdad not to her taste. When her mum has a baby, Ella's mum is terribly ill and is put in a coma. Ella has to cope with all the problems that come her way, including meeting her real dad and taking in that her best friend has abandoned her. Will Ella's love and the longest whale song bring mum back?
This book shows what life is like for others and what they've been through. This book is brilliant and very well thought through.
