Summary

There’s a smokin’ hot dead guy locked in my garden shed.

That part’s bad enough. But now, he’s trying to get out.

Growing up, my father always told me that I’d come to a bad end, just like my mom did when I was a kid. Hearing that kind of shit when you’re little eventually gets to a girl, but I can’t say I ever expected my "bad end" to involve an angry vampire with a severe case of iron deficiency and a panty-melting English accent.

Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. Ever since my mother was assassinated, I’ve felt like there was something vast and frightening hidden beneath the fabric of the world. Something none of us are supposed to know about.

So far, finding out I was right hasn’t been nearly as satisfying as I’d hoped. I guess the trick will be staying alive long enough to shout ‘I told you so’ from the rooftops.

But before I can do that, I really need to figure out if the vampire who just bit me is one of the good guys or not.

The Last Vampire is a steamy new urban fantasy romance series from USA Today Bestseller R. A. Steffan and Jaelynn Woolf, co-authors of the Circle of Blood saga.

Grab the omnibus of Books 1-3 today, and enter a world shared by humans, fae, demons, and one very reluctant vampire. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will either be the world’s downfall - or its salvation.

amazing book

We certainly aren’t supposed to have multiple supernatural beings competing for the title of “scariest nemesis.” Yet, that’s where I find myself, now that the last vampire on Earth is no longer the last vampire on Earth.
amazing book from start to finish

The boos is good, the story is okay but....

The book is good, the story is okay but the audio voice is terrible. I really tried to listen to this but I couldn't. The performance is too slow and too many whimpering emotions. Seriously, I felt as if the person reading this was suffering from depression and was crying whilst reading. Very annoying.

Really tried to like this books....

But the narrator made the Heroine sound unbelievably whiney. It took woe is me to a whole new level - SPOILER and how she didn’t realise the Vampire was in live with her after everything he did was totally dumb! I couldn’t even finish book 3 had 5hours to go and just couldn’t face it! Sorry.....not for me

Would you fall for the last Vampire on earth?

Zora finds a man lying in her shed. Dead with a gunshot would to his chest. But he's no ordinary man. He's a long dead vampire. And this major information changes Zoras life forever. Vampires do exist and fae and hell and even her own life isn't what she thought it was. I read these book the first time and I must say I loved the emotion that the narrator Gwendolyn puts into the main character and that of Rans the very British last Vampire. I don't usually like it when authors do British and everyone says love. But with Rans it's kind of him. I received a free copy of these books from the author but the opinions expressed are my own. I really do love this series. Move over Edward.

Absolutely brilliant

Book 1
I really enjoyed this book. There’s a lot of foundation laying in this first book which is needed to put everything in place. The humour is great. I was laughing so much! Gwendolyn is amazing, perfect performance.

Book 2
This series is really heating up. The characters are brilliant, Gwendolyn is absolutely fantastic, I could listen to her all day and night. Great storyline.

Book 3
Oh this series just keeps on getting better and better! I love the dynamic of these characters. Excellent writing and a fantastic performance from Gwendolyn. Book 4 here I come!!!!

♡♡♡Brilliant story telling! ♡♡♡

Zorahs life is a struggle every day but she has her routines and they move her forward day by day until she finds a dead guy in her shed!
After that her world takes a weird, dark and dangerous turn!
I love this character, her mental musings are often hilarious and dome times sad!
Highly recommended.
Great narration.

Slow, boring, and lots of whining

I’m 12 chapters in and I’m sick of this book. It’s very slow moving: 12 chapters in and the plot is only just starting to do anything. Also, the character is whining about her life, not all of it plausible. I’m guessing all these health problems she seems to have (chronic fatigue, food sensitivities, and such) will be explained as symptoms of her some how being not quite human (my guess, not a spoiler), but the complaining is so constant that it gets old. There’s painting a picture, and then there is repetitive filler.

She’s also constantly complaining about her sex life, but it’s really not that abnormal of one from how it’s described (making her complaints not all that plausible). She claims to feel like she’s a nymphomaniac, but her actions and sexual interests are actually pretty boring and mundane. Again, I’m guessing the author will have some point to it, but it’s not believable as it’s written.

Basically, it’s been 12 chapters of her complaining about these things with almost no plot development at all. It’s gotten to be painfully boring to listen to. The only reason I made it this far in the book was because I was listening while driving and it wasn’t safe to mess with my phone to search for something else to listen to.

Nothing wrong with performance; just average.

Not your cookie cutter paranormal romance

I try not to spoil but sometimes I get carried away in my reviews so beware that there may be possible spoilers.

I binged read/listened to books 1-3 of this story because I could not put it down or stop listening to it.

Book 1 was great and was a good start to the series. The narrator is good and I have listened to her before and in other RA Steffan books I believe. I always enjoy her performances. I am just not sure she should have read this particular heroine's part. I just didn't feel like her voice fit but I actually do love this narrator and once I got into the story it didn't matter.

Book 2 had me feeling anxious for all the things the main character was going through and was just as great as the first one.

By book 3 I was getting a little annoyed at the main female character's lack of confidence when it came to the main male character but the story keeps you drawn in it is so good.

The whole series has been very well written, so far. The characters are well developed, although I wish that the main female character wasn't written as obtuse as she was. So many things were in her face and I could have done without the run of the mill, "I didn't know I could do this" or "I didn't know I wasn't human' type thing. I won't spoil but this was my only bone of contention in this series. Having said all that, it was a different take on what people believe in the pnr world and that is refreshing. I really can't wait to read book four.

I was given this book/credit for free for my unbiased review.

funny, sexy, & dramatic

as the other reviewers have mentioned the narrator's main character voice is not as sexy as you'd hope but I think she makes up for it in her other character voices which she does pretty convincingly. if you enjoy an urban fantasy romance on the dirtier side, I think you'll love it like I did. if you prefer something more vanilla, these probably aren't the books for you.

Bloody fabulous!!!!!!!

OMG!!!! This is one of the best vampire/paranormal series I have read! This is the second series from this author and it is just as amazing as the first!! These books just flow perfectly they keep you wanting more and not wishing for it to end! It has the perfect amount of action, drama, heartbreak, and love! You won’t regret reading or listening to this story! If you listen to it the narrator is awesome and really brings the characters to life!
The characters are impossible not to love! Ransley “swoon” who doesn’t love a sarcastic English a**holish vampire lol! The other characters amazing! Read this you won’t regret it!!! I loved it!

It never seems to get to the point.

I have reached my limit with this book. 13 chapters in and I still have no idea what is going on and the who, what, when and why of the story with the major players. If you want long a drawn out not very clear understanding of where the story is going then this book is for you. All we know if one guy is a vamp and the girl is something maybe, and there are other people who give her the creeps but we also don't know who, or what they are or why they want her or want to destroy her life.
What was the point in destroying her life if they were just going to get rid of her?
why was her dad an ass just to turn around and offer her help out of the blue?
To much of the story doesn't connect or there is no understanding of why things are happening.
I give up...and I want my credit back.

A vampire and a starving succubus meet in St Louis

This is a rollicking tale of Ransley, the last vampire, and Zorah, a young woman who thinks she has an auto-immune disease only to discover she's a succubus. It's a big deal for Zorah to learn the world and her part in it is not what she thought it was.

All in one omnibus edition you get great chase scene; danger and intrigue with demons, fae, and the last vampire (clever title, that); travels across realms; and the inventive sex scenes readers/listeners have come to expect from Steffan and Woolf. Druyor as the voice of the series is in fine form. Her Rans is particularly fun.

Get this. In one affordable volume, you won't miss a lick. It mixes up lore in a new and fun way without letting the pace get flabby. The heroine of the story realizes her own worth and grows from a weakling in book 1 to a force to be reckoned with by the end of book 3.

weak ass vampire

It is blatantly obvious that the authors of this book have no idea what vampire lore is silver does not hurt vampires that's for werewolves they don't turn into mist or owls Like they did circle of blood another hard book to listen to I'm struggling to get through this bookThe narrator's accents are inconsistent at best Len doesn't have an accent in the 1st book but develops one in the 3rdThere's more porn in it than a Penthouse forum And Their grasp of actual vampires is pathetic.

Gwendolyn Druyor—a name to remember for Narration

If I had to read these books, I would put ‘em down within an hour. The story is pretty forgettable. However, Gwendolyn the narrator is a riot! Her lively, engaging narration is keeping me glued to the performance. I’ll look for other books she’s done just to hear more of her. Bravo!

don't was your time.

This is one of the worst books I have read/ listen to in a long time. Maybe it was the way the performer read the book, she was not the best choice of voice for this book. The main character was whining the whole 1st 10 chapters, then I gave up reading this book.
